My mum has a ring box like this, only hers has a glass lid so she can see them all without opening it.

I totally get what you mean about it not being a good idea to keep them all together in case of a break in, but I guess it depends how sentimental they are to you. If you can replace them with the dollars from your insurance then it’s not big deal, but if you have a couple that are really sentimental like a grandmothers ring (or something) that can’t be replaced I would keep that one separate from the rest.

I have a jewellery box that I keep on my dresser. I don’t leave my doors unlocked, but I do enjoy my jewellery too much to lock it away in a safe at the bank. When we travel, I put the expensive stuff in the bank and leave the pieces I’m not too worried about in the jewellery box under the bed.

I trust our cat sitter, but I’d feel awful if something went missing and I had to point my finger at her or be suspicious and afraid to use their service again.

Get yourself a jewellery box. Thieves who break in, pull all the dresser drawers out looking for things anyways. Might as well enjoy what you have.

I don’t have a large collection of jewelry. But my step mom does. She has 3 or 4 jewelry boxes that she kept all over the house with stuff she wears all the time. But her nicer, more expensive and sentimental things, she keeps in a safe in their house. We have a very small safe, but a burglar could just pick ours up and walk out with it.

I have two jewellery dolls with hooks where the heads and arms should be. I hang my jewellery from the hooks. It works very well and looks cute. I only have to remember to make sure that the weight is similar on both sides so the the dolls do not topple over.

I’m terrible about this. I take rings off and leave them in drawers, on side tables or one of the candy dishes. I’ve lost three rings because I never keep up with them. None of them were sentimental thankfully and two of them were easily replaceable chain store rings. The third wasn’t sadly and I’ll be having it remade with a slightly different stone.

Its ironic because I have a nice little hiding place for my unset stones but not for the rings I wear all the time. I need a new plan for jewelry storage that looks very innocuous and keeps me organized.

julies1949:  I am so jealous of your amazing jewelry drawer! That looks like it would be wonderful. (even though I know you said it wasn’t a picture of your exact drawer)

OneDayMrsL:  I love this idea, too! I might have to look for one of these.

I currently have all my jewelry in three different boxes in my room. And then there’s a smaller box that holds the stuff I wear most often. But Darling Husband was telling me yesterday that I really should go through all my jewelry and figure out exactly what I have. It might be a good time for me to get more organized. Right now, I have everything lumped in together: rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets. I love the idea of a special box to hold just rings.

I hear that! We don’t have poinsettias in our home because our cat will eat the plants.

Our cat rarely goes on my dresser because she knows she will be disciplined for that.
