If you are concerned about resale, the gray glass subway tile is most current and fresh looking IMO.  I love the stone, and I wouldn’t say it’s out, but it probably predates the subway tiles  by a good ten years or more.

Because of your cabinet and countertop colors i think the natural stone. Home depot have some very pretty, easy to install tile back splashed that have grout and everything and are pretty much sticj on. I feel like the bronze is too rich of a brown where your cabinets are more of a natural lighter brown.

We did bead board as our backsplash and it was a very easy install and very pretty and easy to clean. Just throwing that out there.haha

For your kitchen I like the natural stone tile #4. I have gray subway tile in mine and LOVE it but we also have white cabinets, a gray/white/black granite countertop and gray walls/floor, etc.

    Good luck!

MrsRuby:  I’m jones’n for some subway tile myself so that’s what I chose! Lol! But I thought the first 2 looked to be too much, for my taste anyhow. Subway tile is super timeless and will always look good!

The natural rock is nice, but it reminds me too much of a Tuscan themed kitchen, which IMO is a bit dated.

I really like the subway tile and it was one of our top 2 contenders for our kitchen.

If you want natural stone/rock, what about slate?

Sorry the above picture is so big.

We just put this porcelain tile for our backsplash.  It looks like linen and it’s by Daltile. Note: this is not my kitchen.

I also think marble backsplashes are timeless.

I love the bronze but I feel like that may could end up looking dated a little ways down the road so I voted for the natural tile. I think that would be good for the long haul.

How about a mosaic with copper, slate, and glass?   You can find variants with differing hues of glass tile, and impact the look with the color grout you choose.

    The grey tile, definitely.
