Flats in my opinion are the perfect business casual shoe. I can wear them almost anywhere and still be fashionable without sacrificing comfort. (I love me some heels but I will take a comfortable pair of flats over those anyday!) Unfortunately they can build up serious foot funk over time. (I know about using powder, deodorant, no show socks, etc) My question is which brands of flats in your opinion are the worst offenders for getting fragrant fast?

They shouldn’t be fragrant. If you have sweaty feet, once a week or so swipe the inside of the shoe with some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. That kils the bacteria. I wear Tieks and any shoe with a leather lining has the potential to “make themselves known” over time. It’s an expensive shoe and I wipe them down frequently. No odor after a few YEARS of wearing them barefoot.

I used to have foot odor that cleared rooms. Seriousl, people at work would yell at me because my fewt were so stinky. I tried everything (kitty litter in the evenings, putting the shoes in the freezer, uV lights, untold sprays and inserts). I couldn’t wear any flats b cause of the stank, so I wore leather boots year round to hold the stinky inside
Then I tried this amazing stuff “On Your Toes” zinc oxide powder. It is So Awesome. I cannot begin to tell you. It has literally changed my life, in that my work and personal lide are no longer negatively affected by the stinky. I cannot recommend this powder enought. You can buy it on Amazon, where it has a 4.5 star review.
PS Since my feet are so stinky, I used double the recommendEd amount, which you may want to try, too

This is your first post?? About smelly feet?

make sure that if you get them wet or damp in any way that you dry them thoroughly before you wear them again or as soon as you take them off. Also wipe them down with a cotton ball as some peroxide every few days.

I figured I’d put my best foot forward in this forum. Maybe I should have dived in headfirst and start with the best haircare products instead lol?

I put “odor destroyer” insoles in mine so I can wear them w/o socks. they’ll last a while before needing to be replaced.

Always use anti bac soap on your feet every day, and don’t wear the same flats every day. I have several pairs that I rotate throughout the week. Constantly being moist is where the bacteria grows, regardless of how clean you are.
Dr. Scholls odor eaters are excellent and very cheap. There’s also a target brand (or whatever store brand you can find) that works just the same.

I simply spray with Lysol on my Friday’s. That way it is routine

I second what others have said! You can also try the little foot liners (no show socks) that are sold at Target. They are essentially a polyester/spandex blend with a little cushion on the back for your foot. They help keep my feet from sweating in flats!
I buy the Merona brand. 1 set for $3.
