I’m trying to decide what to get my bridesmaids for a thank you gift. I think I have decided on getting them each a handbag and putting a $50 spa gift certificate inside. But which bag should I get? What is the best gift you have ever received as a bridesmaid?

@Sea_Ashley: Do you have certain bags in mind from these designers?

@MrsBeck: Kind of.. I wanted to get them all different ones, but from the same designer.

I wouldn’t care about the designer, I’d just care about what it looks like. I think it’s a fabulous idea tho.

@Sea_Ashley: I don’t really care about a name brand, for me its the style so… I have a hard time answering — I said “other”
I think getting the girls each a handbag that suits their taste, regardless of designer would be nicer than making htem all the same designer. I doubt they’re going to care that X got one from designer Y and they didn’t, assuming they love the style of the one you picked for them 🙂

@Sea_Ashley: I guess your budget is reallY big? Lol not to be judgemental but I think this is a little over the top for a bridesmaid gift? Unless you have them flying to another country or something insane like that.
My memtality is the the bridesmaid gift should be $20-30. Mine will be little burlap, linen, and lace clutches that I am DIY. A friend is custom making sweet pea scented soaps and candles for each one. I’m throwing in a sweet pea 3 step ritual from bath and body works as well as a few preview lotions. Then adding stud earrings and a necklace, making the necklace myself.
If I were spending the amount of money you are I just would’ve paid for their dresses to ease the financial burden on them
sorry, really, I’m not trying to be mean I’m just in shock that you are spending… What? $200+ on each bridesmaid? I have 8 myself, so just on gifts for my girls i’d be at $1600, which is around 12% of my overall budget

@Sea_Ashley: I have always wanted a D&B so that’s my choice, but I know some people are really into Coach. If I had to pick Coach would be my last choice of the three so maybe you should hint around… send pics like “omg I just saw this purse today isn’t it so amazing!” and see what kind of reactions you get from each Bridesmaid or Best Man, ifyou don’t know their tastes/preferences enough already

Like PP it depends on the bag. Do you have links or pictures of the bags you’re looking at? Also, I woud advice that you get the same bag for all the girls to avoid anyone from liking another bag better than the one she received. I know they should be grateful but I know I’ve wished I had gotten someone else’s present sometimes soly because I liked the color or style of theirs more than the one I got

@FortiesFlare: Thank you!
@CiaArielleNeugebauer: Yeah, I probably wouldn’t be doing this if I had a large wedding party like you – wow! I only have 4 bridesmaids and they have done so much to help with the wedding. Plus my fiance is getting his guys NFL tickets so I needed to think of something that matched.
@BluePeaches: Coach would be my last choice too. I have one MK bag that I love and use all the time. Thanks for the suggestions!

Honestly, my fav designer is Kate Spade, so I’d pick that! I’m getting my bridesmaids a kate spade clutch & mini wallet (all the same).
In order, I’d like Dooney & Burke, Michael Kors, & then Coach. My bridesmaids are 29 – 31, so I think Coach bags are a little ‘young’ for them though!

I am a Michael Kors nut and would love you to death if I were your bridesmaid! 🙂

@IzzyBear: I’ve been debating on whether to get them all the same or not. I would be able to avoid them liking another bag more, but it would also be weird if we go out sometime together and 2 or more of the girls have the same handbag, you know?

I don’t buy/use purses because of their designer, but rather for their design, size, and if the inner pockets fit my individual needs. A purse is one of the most personal things women buy because only yourself knows your own needs – I can’t count the number of times I’ve stopped using a purse because the pockets weren’t right and I just couldn’t stand losing my keys for the nth time! If you get purses, don’t take it personally if they don’t use your gift as their every-day purse. :/

@Sea_Ashley: I think if you choose a good neutral bag (like a black, tan, or white bag, etc) then going out and having the same bag won’t be an issue. If you got them all funky colored/patterned bags it might look all matchy-matchy though
