I can’t decide which of these dresses I like better, or if they go with my dress. Help?
Dress # 1 By Monique Lhuillier
Dress # 2 Also by Monique Lhuiliier
They’re both priced about the same from Nordstroms and my coordinator said she might be able to get us a discount, but really we only need two because my Maid/Matron of Honor is a man and will not be wearing a dress.
This is my Maggie Sottero Anniston

I’m honestly not a big fan of either of them. I’m not a huge strapless dress fan (although you look really great in your wedding dress!), and the second dress doesn’t go with your wedding dress (it’s the neckline of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress that is off for me). That’s just my opinion, though.

Why are you trying to match your dress?
If you’re trying to match your dress then I’d say #2, but I like #1.

@ArmyWife8806: I’m not trying to match it, really. I just want to make sure they look nice together. Its probably not that big of a deal either way.

I the lace elements of #2 really go well with the bodice of your dress. Both are beautiful!

I don’t think I understand the whole “goes with my dress” or doesn’t. Does it matter?! As long as you’re all dressed for the same season, I think it’s whatever you like for bridesmaid dresses.

I love them both! I’m not for all matchy matchy dresses across the board (bride and bridesmaids). I think they might be pretty if your bridesmaids chose from the two (some maids might not like lace or strapless).

I personally love #2! If I were your bridesmaid, I would thank you up and down for picking that dress. But I’m partial to lace. 🙂

#2 is gorgeous and non strapless dresses usually look better on all the bridesmaids.

I definitely prefer dress #1, I think it is much more elegant and it provides a great contrast to your dress. The lace of dress #2 is too matchy-matchy with your lace dress, and it’s not as formal. (I dunno what the level of formality of your wedding is?)
Which dress do your BMs prefer?
What body types do your BMs have? If they have bigger chests they would probably prefer dresses with straps – my Maid/Matron of Honor is overweight and she tried on all of the styles of Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses at J. Crew, and she was much much more comfortable in all of the dresses with straps. #1 looks slightly longer, if your BMs are tall then they might prefer that (I am very tall and dresses always end up being too short on me! A couple inches can make a big difference!) If they have smaller chests then they might love dress #1… but I think you should definitely ask for their opinions.

First, I don’t think a Bridesmaid or Best Man needs to ‘match’ a wedding dress as such. I think the first Bridesmaid or Best Man dress is stunning. I think it would be absolutely fine with your dress!

I prefer the dress 1, your wedding dress seems made in whole piece of lace.
It maybe better to get the bridesmaid dress without or a few of lace. But for dress 1, I think you may add a strap or two straps on. It maybe more match your dress. You may make some small changes on your bridesmaid dresses like straps or halter.

I love your dresss, but am not fond of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. I agree that straps are better for BMs who are fuller in the chest.
