So yesterday I went Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping with two of my BMs who were in town. These 5 were the top contenders. The color for ALL of them would be Navy (so please disregard color and just look at style).
Which do you like best? I will post my dress as well.
Number 1 (more fitted, asymmetrical waist):
Number 2 (straps & flower detail):
Number 3 (Flowy and this is the Navy color):
Numbers 4 (Simple strapless w/ waist detail) & Number 5 (strapless with flower detail):
And here’s my dress:
So what are your thoughts? It is an outdoor wedding in late September on the water in Maine.

I think #1 echoes the draping on your dress really nicely. I also love #3, and it looks really flowy and pretty for an outdoor wedding.
dress #1 mimics your dress if you want that. i love #3!
I really like # 3 but I am also a huge fan of chiffon and other flowy fabrics!
I didn’t realize how dress 1 mimics mine. I have 5 BMs (including MOH) so I’m thinking I could use 2 of these dresses. One for Maid/Matron of Honor and one for the rest of the BMs.

@KatNYC2011: If you do use two dresses, I personally like when they’re in the same fabric. So like maybe #1 and #4.
What about the body type of your BM’s? I think the 2nd one would be more flattering on someone who’s a larger size but I personally like the 3rd one the best.

@RingAroundtheRosie: Those are 2 of my BMs in the picture. Two of the others are similar to each of them, one tall and narrow, the other petite. The 5th is tall and curvy.

@KatNYC2011: Oh, okay. Sounds like you’re pretty fortunate to be choosing dresses to flatter similar body types. Mine range from a size 4 to a size 24!
Then I think #3 🙂

#2 and #3 are my favorites and I think would look best on a variety of body types. No offense but although #1 is in style now I think you’ll look at that in the future and think it was ugly. #2/3 are more classic styles and are much more forgiving to body imperfections!
I think 4 and 5 look okay too but won’t look good on certain body types. I know I would look hideously huge in that style, just because I have bigger hips.

I love #1 or #3!! 3 is my favorite. I agree that if you end up using 2 dresses I’d go with the same fabric for each.

Number 3 is definitely my favorite! I also like #4 but #3 is the clear winner to me.

3 is my favorite too. I even want one for myself (I dont’ feel like it screams “bridesmaid” but is just classic and pretty).
I figure the girls can all pick their own open toed matte silver/grey shoes. Since I’m wearing silver/grey peeptoes:

I also choose #3. And these days any dress will work for a bridesmaids dress. Just depends on the wedding. But I love #3:)
