Our “theme” is rustic/fall. I thought for sure I just wanted a regular wedding cake with buttercream frosting and throw on some cute DIY cake topper like some pinwheels in our wedding colors. But then I saw some really cute ideas that I also like.
This first one I like because I’m a HUGE music buff. I have one song I really wanted for my wedding but Fiance didn’t like the beat of it. The words are really romantic and I thought we could incorporate it with writing like this cake:

But I also really like this idea of Cake Balls. I have an awesome recipe I used at my cousins baby shower. Its different and Fiance said he and his uncle could make the display stand (FI was going to make our cake stand anyway):

Here is the Buttercream Cake I was originally wanting:

What do you brides think?

The first cake is absolutely beautiful. I mean so classy and breathtaking. But the cake pops are just so darn practical! Everyone grab a cake pop and get the hell away! I kinda love it Lmao.

@HUstrawberry: I like the cake pops for that reason too. No cake cutting. Hopefully less mess. And its something I can eat on the go when I’m making my rounds with guests.
But I do like the elegance of the first one.
Then there is just the simplicity of the 3rd one that I really like. Nothing spectacular just vintage and simple.
UGH I hate choices lol. I’m so indecisive.

I don’t like the cake pop “cake” Not my idea of “cake”… But the first one is elegant and unique. so I voted for that one. The last one I can only see the top of the cake and the windmills. can’t see the whole cake, but I can imagine what buttercream tastes like! LOL

I think the first one is beautiful, but I voted for the cake pops because they’re unique and so practical. Check to see if your venue has a cake cutting fee, and whether or not you want to fork over cash for that. We had mini cupcakes and it was perfect—people didn’t need to be seated and served (cut into our reception time less), and guests grabbed a cupcake whenever they wanted throughout the dance! It was perfect!

The first one, hands down. I’ve never seen what the obsession with cake pops is. IMO, they’re overdone at this point.

@happyface: Yeah I couldn’t find a whole cake image that was what I was looking for. I was hoping that you could tell what the cake would look like from the top of the frosting lol. Just basic buttercream in that wavey pattern all the way down.
