White cake with lemon curd and blueberry

Chocolate Turtle (chocolate cake with caramel filling with pecans)

Mochachino (mocha cake with mocha ganache filling)

    None - I don't like cake

None - I like cake, but none of those flavors sound good to me

@T-Rex: Another for the anti-coffee brigade! Blegh, too strong and over-powering for me.

    1. White cake with lemon curd and blueberry…I do not care for either lemon or blueberry
    2. Chocolate Turtle (chocolate cake with caramel filling with pecans…I do not care for caramel or pecans…are you worried about people with allergies?
    3. Mochachino (mocha cake with chocolate ganache filling)…I don’t know how I’d feel about a coffe-flavored cake…but the chocolate sounds good!

But honestly…I probably wouldn’t eat any of them. They’re kinda all out there. What about 1 traditional for the old foggies (and me)? lol

@Crabbabs: Chocolate Turtle (chocolate cake with caramel filling with pecans) I’d be concerned with some of my guests being allergic to nuts.

I would prefer the chocolate turtle.  It sounds reallly good.  I’m not a big coffee or blueberry fan, but I’d be ok with those too.

At the last two weddings I went to, the wedding cakes were interesting flavors.  One was a red velvet and the other was a lemon with a red raspberry filling.  Both were very good.  But at both weddings, I overheard guests complaining about the flavors and wishing there was a “normal” cake.  I’ll admit that while I liked both of the cakes, I did kind of miss having “wedding” cake at a wedding.

I feel like the turtle and the mocha options are too heavy/rich for me.  I’d like maybe a white or marble cake with a mocha filling, but not a mocha cake.  I like the lemon and blueberry idea because it sounds refreshing.

They all sound delicous and I would love all three!  I’m an adventerous eater.  But, maybe there are a number of people who do not care for lemon or blueberries.  There are people that don’t like or are allergic to nuts.  And… not everyone likes chocolate. I think if you’re going to have unusual flavor combos (which sound awesome to me!) you should incorporate flavors that are “safe” to be enjoyed by all.

Yum, thanks for reminding me that I need to set up an appointment for a cake testing. I voted for Chocolate Turtle, but the Mochachino was a close second!

    I LOVE lemon cake. LOVE.

I would also love the turtle cake but I know a lot of people I know wouldn’t be able to eat it due to allergies.

I was going to vote for Chocolate Turtle one, but then I looked below and saw mochacino.  I seriously LOVE this type of cake.  It’s sex in my mouth.  Anyways, that’s what I voted for and if you’re having it – I’m coming.  THANKS! 😉

Chocolate Turtle cake sounds really yummy. I don’t know if others feel the same way but I’m not a lover of custard/curd filling on cakes. I think it’s nice to offer something simple that guest can easily recognize or be happy to try. We have a couple of wild card flavors in addition to an old favorite, “red velvet”. can’t go wrong with that.

Oh wow those all sound so good and I am not even a sweet tooth. I voted for mochacino but the white cake was a close second. I mean, really really close. YUM.
