    Personally I like vanilla cake with buttercream frosting, maybe this is a little boring but it tastes delicious, IMO.

    I would make the largest layer the most neutral flavor- the pound cake .

    I love chocolate cake but if it’s too rich… I won’t finish my slice and feel sick after a few bites

    I think carrot cake is good but I don’t find it as appropriate for a wedding. Also, it’s a love/hate type of cake. You usually either love it or hate it.

    My choice would be the pound cake with strawberries. Pound cake isn’t usually as overwhelming or underwhelming as other cakes. You can eat a slice and feel thoroughly satisfied in my opinion but still have room for more. Plus I love fresh strawberries.

    Pound cake would be my first choice with the carrot cake being a close 2nd.

    @orchid84:  <– What she said.

    Of those, the only one I would eat is the chocolate. I’m not into fruit fillings and I don’t love carrot cake at all. I’m a boring ol’ vanilla girl for the most part. Then again, one of our cakes is white chocolate with buttercream which I LOVE.

    I would have your smallest layer be the carrot cake for the people who are really into carrot cake, but a lot of people would probably prefer the choc/choc or the vanilla/strawberry combo. Carrot cake also usually has nuts so any guests with allergies will likely avoid it.

    i love all cake so i no preference from me.  i would probably ask for a slice of each.

    but i can tell you that it’s good to have a neutral flavor that everyone loves as one of the options.  most people like chocolate but i’ve come across a few who do not. (i think they are strange.) i love fully loaded carrot cake with raisins, pienapple, coconut, walnuts…but i know so many people who hate carrot cake.  i love pound cake but i find that most homemade pound cakes do not compare for frozen sara lee pound cake.

    I’d switch the carrot cake for vanilla sponge with buttercream. x

    What might help to decide- When is your wedding, what will the conditions be like? The pound cake with light strawberry filling would be much better suited to an outdoor-tent ceremony. Actually, since your wedding is in June, that might be best…. My favorite is the carrot cake, but it might be a little heavy for that time of year.
