Fiance brought home a cupcake sample yesterday from a local bakery, and OMG they are all so good!
My favorites out of the sample are spice, champange, banana, and cherry.
I’m worried about going too “crazy” and picking something like banana even though it’s amazing, so I’m thinking champagne might be the “safest” flavor choice besides white.
Did anyone out there pick an unusual (not white or chocolate) cake flavor? Which flavors do you prefer as a guest?

we bought a chocolate cake and a carrot-walnut cake. They were both so rich and delicious.
Sorry, we were super typical–we picked safe flavors we knew everyone would love. To be fair though, there weren’t very many un-safe flavors at the bakery we wanted to use.

I went with white, chocolate, lemon, and carrot. Pretty typical but I’m paying a good chunk of change on the cake and wanted to make sure they were usually universally liked.

We went to a lot of tastings and ultimately decided on chocolate cake with dairy-free chocolate mousse filling and white cake with a whipped cream cheese filling.
My favorite cake was an amaretto cake with rasberry filling but Fiance hated it. So we decided we would get that as a shower cake!
I think you should choose on what each of you really loved the most! If one of you doesn’t like it, it’s out. I ony say that because I know I don’t want to be restricted to one flavor for our wedding, I want multiple pieces of cake! And always remember that you can get other cakes for other gatherings like your shower, reheral dinner, engagement party, etc.

We did cupcakes so we could choose a lot of different flavors!
Our cutting cake was just a basic chocolate cake and our cupcake flavors were:
Cherry Coke (our favorite!)
Cookies and Cream
Mint Chocolate Chip
The Big Lebowski

3 tier cake – bottom tier white chocolate sponge with passionfruit buttercream filling, middle tier chocolate with salted caramel buttercream filling and top tier vanilla with chocolate buttercream.

We’re going with pistachio flavoured cake. Fiance chose it for our tasting after he had lived off pistachio gelato in Italy and I thought he was crazy for it but it ended up being both of ours favourite!

We went pretty basic but it’s just so delicious! We picked vanilla with an oreo buttercream!

- Wedding: September 2017 - Poppy Ridge Golf Course
We’ve decided to nix the traditional cake and order Nothing Bundt Cakes instead. One tier cake for cutting and an assortment of bundtinis. Flavors will be white chocolate raspberry, lemon, marble, carrot, red velvet, chocolate and pineapple upside down cake if its in season. As a guest I’d love to try something different vs. standard flavors like chocolate and vanilla but haven’t had the option. Choose whatever tastes best! If its banana then go for it.

Our cake will be red velvet and then we are getting a bunch of mini cupcakes in mostly boring chocolate/vanilla combinations. My favourite is chocolate with peanut butter icing and FI’s favourite is vanilla with lemon lime icing so we are having some of those too so everyone will be happy.

Pistachio! Best flavour! I’m kind of jealous now… We chose Nutella as our cake flavour 🙂

We chose 2 flavors, Neopolitan (vanilla and chocolate cake with a strawberry cream filling) and Amoretto (light almond scented cake with an almod blavored buttercream filling). We chose what we like, also taking into thought what the meal would be before it. We didnt want to do very heavy cake after a heavier fall meal. We loved the double chocolate coffee, but it was very heavy.

we had two options so one was “safer” than the other. Vanilla cake with salted caramel buttercream and pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. They were both amazing!
