We had 5 different cupcake flavors – vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, apple pie (which was my favorite) and key lime.  They were almost all equally popular but the baker made more vanilla and chocolate than the other flavors and when I counted what was left (not much) there were fewer of those than the other ones.  I don’t think you can ever go wrong with vanilla and chocolate.

socalgirl1689 :  Don’t do mocha even though the poll says otherwise.  for people who hate coffee, one of the more disappointing things would be to grab a slice of cake expecting chocolate and get a mouthful of gross instead – there is not diluting that nasty flavor.  People can have a cup of coffee with their cake but you can’t take out what’s baked in!  Personally I love red velvet but chocolate would be fine, too.

ETA: real red velvet is delicious, has a great texture and is definitely chocolate in flavor.  If it tastes like chemicals, they are doing it wrong (i.e. dumping in a bottle of food coloring instead of using vinegar).  Definitely taste test first!

I love chocolate but usually don’t like mocha flavour but I love coffee. I hate vanilla cake but im weird. I say red velvet  or chocolate because theres usually cream cheese frosting on red velvet. Mmmm.

annabananabee :  Yes x100000 on being able to taste the chemicals in red velvet cake!

I like it in theory – chocolatey with cream cheese icing but I never finish it when I try it.

I voted for mocha because it’s a little more special and different but plain chocolate sounds great too!

I vote red velvet & vanilla. I’m a firm believer in vanilla being one of the cake flavors…with no creams/gels/junk to mess up that wedding cake vanilla. That being said, I can take it or leave it. The only cake I cannot turn down is red velvet. It gets me every time.

I recently went to a wedding the other weekend and the red velvet was such a hit, it was gone within minutes I didn’t even get a chance to try! Plus they had so many different kinds of desserts too…so I vote for red velvet!!

Chocolate or red velvet since I am very sensitive to any caffeine

My Fiance likes chocolate, I perfer vanilla so we went with marble! It was a great compromise so vanilla and chocolate get my vote.

I can’t believe so many people voted for mocha! I hate mocha/coffee flavoured desserts but I love coffee. Chocolate is definitely the safe choice but I love red velvet (can’t go wrong with cream cheese icing!).

Not a coffee fan here, and tbh I don’t get the hype about Red Velvet.

We’ll definitely have a vanilla tier and a chocolate tier 🙂
