Hi again. See part of one of this decision here (cake woes!)
We weren’t originally going to do a tiered cake, but the baker we decided to go with offered it for a really good price. Then came the other decision- what type of cake!
She had this for a bday party on her website and said she could do it in white with “sand” but no colors if we go for our original cake flavor. She did say it would have to be textured.
Hive, I just don’t want a traditional white wedding cake. And in my opinion boring. So we could
(1) Tired with flip flops on the top tier
(2) Tiered with no flip flops
(3) Sheet cake
Flip flop cake she’s done in the past (above) textured below.

Personally, I don’t like the look of the flip flops for a wedding cake. It looks like a cake for a backyard cookout, not for a wedding. I’m also not a huge fan of her tiered cake, either, though. It looks like frosting overload, which is making it look sloppy to me. Maybe back to the drawing board?

Of the two, I prefer the second one – I’m not crazy about flip flops on a wedding cake. However if it is something that is significant to you guys, go for it!

I’m not crazy about the flip flops either. Would you consider a cake topper of a beach couple wearing flip flops? I voted for tiered without them, but if I were a guest I wouldn’t mind the sheet cake either
I’m sure there are lots of ways to personalise your cake without being too informal or too wedding-y 🙂

I agree with the other PPs on the flip flops. What about finding a cake topper on etsy of people wearing flip flops? Many sellers can custom make something that looks like you and FI!

I’m sorry but i’m not a fan of either of the cakes.
If YOU like them and you’ve got your heart set on them then go for it, it’s your day afterall
