myfitnesspal with fitbit.  I tried just the fitbit and the database was just not as comprehensive. i’ve also tried loseit but that was a while ago.  i like myfitnesspal with the fitbit because the more steps I take, the more calories I get.

I don’t know all of its features, but I’m using myDietCoach. I don’t think it’s as intensive as MyFitnessPal, but it’s really cute. It has a “Panic” button for when you start craving something where it times you for 20 minutes (as that’s how long a craving usually lasts) and asks if you beat the craving, lol. Sometimes I just read the tips on the subway. It’s good to have as a side app, and the full version is only $0.99.

My husband has lost around 50 lbs using myfitnesspal. He also runs like a maniac but the site has really helped him keep track of what he eats.

I started using runkeeper. but primarily because it does an excellent job tracking my runs/walks and has awesome audio cues for time and distance (you set to how often you want it). It also has training plans and ‘workouts’ you set up that give you audio cues telling you when to run, walk, sprint, jog while working out.

@FauxBoho:  FitBit is an wireless activity tracker.  It’s a pedometer on steroids because it tracks your steps, how many flights of stairs you take, your activities, and your sleep.  I’ve been using it for a while. I was at a Wellness seminar and sat next to a guy who tests various fitness tools as part of his job and he told me that the FitBit was probably the best pedometer on the market. I budgeted the cost of FitBits for all our employees as part of our Wellness initiative.  I got my sister one  and she loves it.

I use the fitbit and link it to myfitnesspal.  i think it also works with several other sites.  My sister links hers to earndit.com to earn free giftcards.  She walks a lot more than me though.  She walks to work and she also trains for marathons.  I struggle to get 10,000 steps per day.
