Im a size 4 and have a 2.17 carat which replaced an 8.5mm moissy in the same setting with no issues! So they measures just about the same!

I love this size so much!!! But it’s not too big at all and I probably could do a bigger size diamond if finances allowed lol

My ring size is a 3.5 but  this entire set is a 3.75 because how thick the set it with the band but the center stone is a 1 carat and a halo making the entire ering size 10mm around.  I personally wouldn’t go up to 3 carats I think it would look too large personally.my ring

juliensmommy :  your current ring is gorgeous!!! But if you’re looking for more delicate go smaller.

I’d vote for the 2.5 ct stone. I have three different erings and I like that they all have distinctly different sizes, colors and styles. If you’re going for something smaller, I’d say really do it, then when you want something more substantial, you wear the ring you already have for a while.

Personally, I do not find shrinkage to be a thing when you have another, larger ring you can pull put and wear on occasion.

If you’re really unsure, though, I’d get a CZ stand in ring and try it out for a while.

I’m just gonna say that I’m jealous of your small dainty fingers lol you can totally pull off a “smaller” stone, my size 8 finger can’t do that as easily haha

I think you should go for the 9mm since you’re already worried about shrinkage. The 9mm with be noticeably smaller than your current ring but still very substantial. I think going from your current size to an 8.5 might be too drastic. 8.5mm sounds like it would be huge but I have small hands and I really don’t think my stone is THAT big juliensmommy :

I’m a size 6 so won’t post my set but I will say that when I was deciding on a stone size I tried on several CZs and decided 9mm was for me. However, I had only compared it to an 8mm, not 8.5mm. When I got to my appointment and was able to compare stones side by side, I was pleasantly surprised to see how small the difference was. For reference, that’s my 2.4carat (8.6mm) J vs1 xxx on top and a D si1 xxx on the bottom. I forgot the exact carat size of that one but it was 9.1mm on the certificate. I was also surprised by how little the color difference made to me and ended up saving thousands of dollars compared to what I had originally wanted by dropping some carat weight and color grade.
