I found a dress I like, but I am conflicted between two color options – the one in the store is ivory/cafe/silver, and they also have a white/silver only version but I haven’t been able to see it in person.
I’ve been leaning towards white dresses overall, but I really like the contrast of the ivory/cafe/silver version. I worry white on white will take away that effect, but then again, it might make me look less “hippy” in a good way. What do you think?
I think I found images from another bride’s dress of the white/silver version:

@Kathy151: I actually like the white/silver. I know the dress is on someone else, but I feel like there is just something “off” with the other color for me… Not sure why. Then again, it’s hard to say what the white/silver would look like with your skin tone by not being able to actually see it on you.
This is hard. And I am obviously no help.

I really like the white/silver only version. I love colored gowns, but there’s something about how it just stops at the hips that’s not as flattering or cohesive as it could be.
Good luck! It’s a beautiful gown!

I didn’t vote because I think both color options are very nice! I would say that the ivory/cafe/silver gives it more of a vintage vibe while the white/silver is more modern. So I would pick whichever goes with the style of your wedding better.

I definitely like the white/silver option better also. It’s more my taste… but you will be goregous in either one! 🙂

I personally love the Ivory one- I think it is more unique!

I agree with thesejoys, it depends on the overall style of the wedding. The white/silver is more modern, the ivory/cafe/silver is more vintage. Both are lovely!

I like the white/silver option better also. And I must say, that dress looks beautiful on you!

The white seems like a much more cohesive look overall. Love it!

Also, one thing my Future Mother-In-Law keeps telling me is that no one will be able to compare what you choose with what you didn’t choose for your wedding day. It’s helped me SO MUCH to remember that. So if you like the white dress, go for it. No one will be able to compare it to the ivory one on your wedding day.:)

I never even thought of it as a vintage vs. modern consideration – very helpful!
Some more details about the tone/feel of the wedding: I’m definitely expecting things to be more modern than vintage. Pops of bold colors on the tables, invites, etc – dark purple with leafy green and white accents. The venue itself will be in a community center in a park.
Also, when I think about how I want my pictures to look afterwards (at least the bride and groom only ones) – the word that comes to mind is “timeless.” Either dress option more timeless?
A million thanks!

I love the second one. I think it is more “timeless” because of the white color. The first one looks amazing on you but the way the colors are done it looks like one dress on top and another on the bottom. You look amazing in it but I love the second color.

I prefer the all-white version. I definitely think it has a more timeless feel. It’s a beautiful dress. And I like the cohesive feel of it also. I feel like the different colors of the ivory version break up the dress too much.

Ivory is a more natural color than stark white. It is softer and, I think, will photograph better.

I like the white & silver.
