I would go with the Sunday 2PM time just because of the the rehearsal dinner the night before. Your guests will still have lots of time to enjoy the reception, but I would plan for and expect your guests to not stay super late.

Are you on east coast or west coast?  Basically, can people take a redeye back and not miss a day of work if they really don’t want to/can’t?  Sunday is definitely better for those who are training it, but those flying would probably prefer Sunday to Friday.  Try to do pictures before the cermony so you can have dinner on the earlier side.

I will be honest we had a Sunday Wedding and a lot of out of town guest. And a lot of out guest both in town and out of town left fairly early because they needed to get home to get ready for the week. My theory was that either way they would mostly have to miss a day of work, but if you want people to stick around and have a party at you reception I would say Friday.

I personally like Friday evening weddings (so much I’m having one). You save money, the guests can let loos since they don’t have work the next day and they are late enough that in reality you don’t have to miss too much work. I consider it a win win.

Every flight I’ve taken to the East Coast puts me in around 5-7 pm. That being said any small delay would result in being significantly late so I would probably suggest flying out Thursday night…cheaper flights anyway!
