Hi everyone! I’m new here and I’m beginning to look/try on engagement rings to see which one I like. I’ve tried on these two and was wondering which one do you prefer and why? Both are about 1 carat in size. Sorry the pictures are in different lighting.

hi bee, congratulations on your upcoming engagement! I chose the first one (natural lighting) because I like how the band is thinner and also how it appears to have some sort of halo/bezel type thing happening. I think it looks prettier than the thicker band solitaire.

The top picture. Very beautiful ring, looks great on your hand.

I love Costco jewelry! My ering came from there. I tried the bottom one on, and ended up loving a solitaire with a tapered band; I felt the band was a bit too wide on the bottom ring. The top looks like a illusion diamond, which I’m not a big fan of. It could be the lighting. If it’s not an illusion, I like the top one also because I like the tapered band, but the stone on the bottom ring is just so pretty.

Love the chunky band of the bottom one, so I voted for it. Although I do love the stone setting in the top one.

Both rings are super pretty! I think the main difference to me is the top ring is more trendy right now, delicate and feminine. The bottom ring is classic and wouldn’t be what I would consider trendy.
I think it’s just a matter of what you like most.

I would like a combo? I like the solitaire setting, but prefer the tapered band of hte first one.

I like the top one better! Also I love your ring on your pointer!

I’ve never liked bezel, so voted for the classic solitaire. It’s super elegant.

I like both of them, but leaning towards the top ring bc it looks huge on your finger. However, the bottom ring has that timeless look that I adore. Difficult decision. Is one of them more comfortable to wear….the bottom one is my guess only bc it’s thicker but I suppose that’s personal preference. I’m also interested in seeing the profile of each ring. Personally, I like keeping my diamond very clean and find certain styles much harder to clean on the sides and not leave a lot of water spots. The profile might also influence which band you’d like to pair with the ring (unless there’s a matching band and then the choice is less complicated). So both rings are gorgeous. Consider cleaning difficulty and the matching band to help in a decision.

I vote the bottom one. 🙂 but it’s only because I personally am not a big fan of bezel, although the top one is still quite pretty! The bottom one is very classic and lovely.

I prefer the first ring, because the tapered band puts the emphasis on the stone, making it look larger. 😀

they are both gorgeous. The one in natural light makes my heart flutter more because it has a vintage feel to it. Best of luck to you and congratulations

I like the first one better because of the thinner tapered band. The secong one would look better with a 2mm band rather than the thicker band
