Round faces up the largest between all of those. Round appears the largest in general.

I always thought cushion cut was the largest but TBH I haven’t paid much attention. My ring is round because I like the way it looks.

round brilliant as its facets give it more sparkle than any other cut.

@S2013:  I think an ideal cut 1ct round is something like 6.5mm across, but a cushion is 5.5mm. I THINK. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Here’s the thing, a 1 carat will look different no matter the shape. Let me explain…you can have two 1ct round diamonds that look totally different because carat is the weight measurement. The cut is what matters. For example, a diamond that is really shallow will look bigger than a diamond that has an excellent cut and a deep cut diamond will look smaller. Make sense?

I looked at several round diamonds while shopping and I saw a .75ct that what the same size as a 1ct because it was a more shallow cut. I know that doesn’t really answer your question but it might help when your looking for diamonds.

Round.

Settings also play a part tho.  Low set diamonds tend to look smaller because they are not as high.

Round, Princess, and then Cushion from a “face up” perspective when ideally cut. Princesses and Cushions have more “material” underneath. Also depends on the depth of the diamond; shallow diamonds will have a larger “spread.”

Cushion is the smallest looking due to the way it’s cut.

@jep109:  Round definitely. I prefer the look of a cushion on my hand, though.
