summerlove16 :  For me I would go with the better cut and higher C’s than the other one.  Even if it’s a bit smaller.  It won’t be that noticeable

Have you run the stats through pricescope forum?  If you’ve got any images they’ll help too.

I was also going to ask, get the measurements. I have a 1 carat princess that is in the 5-5.5 mm range, but then I also have a 3/4 cut stone in another ring and they both look to be about the same size mm-wise, but different carat-wise. I voted for the 0.91 carat.

Congrats!  You cant go wrong with either diamond.  I just search their inventory and compared the possible choices and they are all seem to be excellent options!  Just tell him you dont care and let him pick ๐Ÿ™‚  From what I can tell, the each have their pros and cons but they are all beautiful stones.

I would go for the 0.91. Because it is a better cut and higher in colour it will sparkle like mad and therefore look the same size as the lower quality 1.01ct. If the H colour was ideal cut then I would go for that one, but good cut won’t give you as much sparkle.

summerlove16 : There’s hardly any difference in the weight of the stones so they should look around the same size. I would go with the .91 as well because the cut is extremely important, the color is a few grades higher, and VS2 is still awesome and not really distinguishable from a VVS2 since they are both eye clean grades. The extra .10 is not worth those trade-offs to me. Congrats and can’t wait to see what you get!

Cut is paramount. The rest of the stats wouldn’t bother me but cut is what you should go by.

Yep, cut is king, as they say. You may also consider diameter: cut influences where the carat weight of your diamond goes – it could be depth, in which case a higher carat diamond can actually face up smaller. Kind of like fat distribution on different body types ๐Ÿ˜›

If you want, direct your BF to the pricescope forum, have him post the details without revealing them to you, and he will get an extremely detailed explanation of which diamond is better and why. That place is practically radioactive with diamond info – I learned tons and I wasn’t ever even looking for diamonds (I’ve got a moissy)!
