I know I’ve been posting a lot on this board lately and I am sorry for practically spamming you guys:D I promise that I’ll try to keep a lid on it for the next month or so.
Anyway, I have a lovely Pronovias wedding dress which I plan on selling after the wedding so to minimize damage and also because I love variety, I decided to get a tea-length (which is now a knee-length) replica from Dressilyme for the reception.
However, now the feedback I get is “Why are you changing to this dress when you have such a pretty wedding dress?” and the the short reception dress is just.. not wedding-ish/bridal.
My goal: I want to look like a bride that night and I do not want a typical reception dress (wanted one which is still somewhat bridal although it’s not full-length which is why I picked this replica). My question is; is my wedding dress MUCH prettier than the reception dress- so much so that I should just nix the reception dress and wear the wedding dress all night?
This is the wedding dress:
This is the reception dress (the dress is not laced up in the picture so it doesn’t fit nicely yet)
Thanks in advance:)

Your wedding dress is MUCH prettier than the reception dress. I’m one of those people who never understands why people change into reception dresses. I figure you get to wear a gorgeous dress for 6-10hrs tops, why change out of it earlier than you have to?

wow… I think it would be such a sin to change out of that amazing dress. Just my opinion though, do whatever makes you feel happier.

I’m a big fan of reception dresses. Love the idea of wearing more of a party dress to, well, PARTY! lol I have one so I’m biased.
In the end it comes down to what you want to do. I’d bring the reception dress so that you have it to change into if you decide to. You may decide to wear your wedding dress all night. . who knows?

Your ceremony dress is absolutely gorgeous. But I can see how the fit of it would make it difficult to dance/move. Maybe you could change in the middle of the reception or near the end?

In my opinion Your reception dress should be just as wonderful as your ceremony dress. I’m sorry but the replica just doesn’t compare. I would just wear your original dress all night. & You really do look so great in it!!

I think your wedding dress is just stunning. I vote wear that all night. Maybe wear the dress you bought for the reception to your rehearsal dinner 🙂

I think the reception dress is SUPER CUTE and will be much easier to dance and party in!
I agree with @medsie35 – you could wear your amazing bridal gown for the beginning of the reception, and then change halfway through when you want to start partying it up! 🙂

Like everyone’s said, I love your wedding dress. Someone mentioned maybe changing towards the middle/end of the reception. Maybe just the last hour or so?
Personally, I loved my dress so much I was determined to stay in it as long as I could. 10am to 11pm baby! We had an after party at a friend’s house and I took off the dress after maybe 2 hours at the party, then put on this cute white tunic w/ 3-D flowers and black leggings.

I would wear your reception dress to your rehearsal instead 🙂

I agree with PP…your weddingdress is just far too beautiful to not wear all night. @Jenlon has a great idea: wear the reception dress to the rehearsal!

Totally agree with @Jenlon…the wedding dress is SMASHING and even tho the recpt dress is super cute an may be able to dance in- it doesnt look as formal or bride-ish as the wedding dress..however as PP said- its ultimately what you feel comfy doing!

Maybe since the replica is modeled after your wedding dress, you can stay in the wedding dress for your wedding and wear the replica for your anniversary?

I vote for staying in your wedding dress.
