OK Bees: I bought my dress over a year ago. It’s the Vera Wang Claudette from the Spring 2009 collection. I love it. It’s modern, unusual, elegant. Love the color too. It was a “sorta sample” (I’ll spare you all those details), but even then because it was from the Luxe collection it was about $5600 with tax. I also knew that I would have to get a corset back put in because it was as is and I am ample in the chest area…
Anyway, fast forward to last week. Found a dress in a magazine. Fell in love. Went and saw it. It was the Maribel by Christos (pictured below with the dot pattern). The store did not have it in stock, but did have the Julianne (with the cap sleeves), very similar and what Mrs. Cowboy Boot wore. Also, it was available there as a sample for $1800. Again, I would have to put a corset back in for it to fit.I could buy the sample or I could order the Maribel for $4250 in my size.
So, what do I do?
Which one do you guys like the best? Take into account putting in the corset backs…also price and the fact that I am getting married in the French Quarter in New Orleans, so which one fits the setting the best is important. I am counting on you!!!!

For the french quarter first dress no doubt. the others are quite beautiful and i love them, but the french quarter has soo much drama and i can just see pictures of you in the first dress on the balconies or with the great architecture. i love it down here!!

I LOVE the first one and I also think it is perfect for the French Quarter. It’s really unique and the bottom is gorgeous!

I agree with the majority that your Vera Wang is a better choice for the setting…I can absolutely picture that gown in the French Quarter, whereas the other one has a more romantic, old-fashioned quality that to me, doesn’t go as well…I love the Vera!
