    Do you have pics of you in the dresses? That would be what you should base your opinion off of!

    The modesty levels on those are very different. What type of venue are you getting married in, and are you used to showing that much skin like the 2nd one requires? Don’t get me wrong, it’s gorgeous and I’d love to be able to pull it off confidently, but I just think it’s odd that one has every inch covered and the other is much more revealing.

    @morganallison:

    100% the Anne Barge, absolutely no question. Without seeing them on you it is hard to judge entirely, but l find most Pnina Tornais overrrated and over priced and over revealing . The one you are considering is far better than most in the revealing aspect however, and had it had a lined bodice and slightly less plunge …..

    The Anne Barge is graceful and elegant

    Naf of the unlined bodices personally. The first is much classier looking IMO.

    I agree with elderberry. The Anne Barge is stunning.

    I will say though, that it’s impossible to say without seeing what they look like on you.

    For example, the dress I bought doesn’t really look the same on me as it does on the pictures on the website. I don’t mean because I’m not a model, I mean in unexpected ways. In real life the skirt is poofier, the bust looks a little lower, and so on.

    There is an episode of “Say yes to the Dress” where the bride tries on the Anne Barge dress and, for reasons I can’t fathom, says yes to another dress.  That dress is truly one of the most beautiful bridal gowns ever created. Say YES to that dress! It’s to die for.

    I like Nr 2 but only if the bodice was lined.

    Why can’t you shop close to home, and then go to NYC if you don’t find anything you love?

    I did lots of hunting online and what I liked online was totally different to what looked good on me in real life. I wouldn’t get too hung up on pictures if I were you. Just go to a few local shops and try on lots of different styles to see what suits you.

    We really need to see the dresses on you to decide, but in terms of style, the first one 100%.  It’s much more unusal than the second (I feel like I have seen that style so many times) and while I know the second is supposed to be sexy, I find the see-through bodice and corsetty type stripes make it look more like the dressmaker was called away urgently and didn’t get to finish it!

    I also feel like the first one is the kind of dress to make the wearer look beautiful whereas the second dress draws attention to itself and not to the wearer.

    Since you’re already leaning toward the first dress and it is available nearer to you, I’d try that on first and go further afield if it’s not the right one for you.  But if you do try it on, please share photos – it really is a stunner!
