Obviously I’m partial to pink mermaids being as I have something pretty simillar – but I love the ballgown on you and I think the top looks awesome and structural and different. Maybe the mermaid could be better with alterations (I have some of the same lines around the tummy area happening on mine, hoping a shitload of foundation garments and lacing it up tight will help, but it may need to be taken in), but the horizontal line cutting you off is distracting :/ It’s a shame they didn’t do it with princess seams instead because I really like the colour on you, and I think the mermaid shape could look really awesome on your figure if it fitted better!

Oh man that ballgown turned out great! It looks fantastic on you! I voted for that one! The mermaid his you in weird spots and it just looks…eh I don’t know really ill fitting I guess. It is a pretty dress but next to the ball gown it pales in comparison.

@Barbiestylez:  I still don’t have any decent pics! It’s such a mission to get in and out of. i’ve tried it on three times now. Got some pics the second time but they are on my ancient phone which can’t seem to send emails properly, and I can’t find my micro SD card reader to get them on the computer. Quite frustrating as I’d like to use them to test photoshopping accessories etc on! I wonder if you could soften up the line with some extra lace appliques over top, or something?

I agree that the ballgown is the more flattering of the two. I think it gives you a lovely shape, but like some other bees, I am not a fan of the top. I don’t mind the corset look so much as I am not a fan of the waitline…like the dress couldn’t decide if it wanted to have a natural waist or more of a dropped waist? I would be all in if the waist was more even. And then you could soften the boning of the bodice with a ribbon or sash, but not sure if you can do that with how the waist is?

I do love the pink mermaid and I think it would be better if it fit a little better in the hip area. The wrinkles around the thigh/crotch area are what throws it off ๐Ÿ™

annnywho, to each her own! If it is what you love, then rock it, girl! Just puttin in my 2 cents

@Barbiestylez:  Holy mackeral, the ballgown!! I LOVE the corset-like lines in the bodice and the soft, poufy skirt, and it looks incredibly amazing on you! You have a great figure and it really flatters you!

I like the ballgown, but the corset looks a little unfinished. Not that it doesn’t fit, but I don’t like the seam look.  As long as you do go with whichever makes you feel like a million bucks!

@Barbiestylez:  as a pronovias bride myself I can highly recommend their mermaids ๐Ÿ™‚ They hit you just at the right spot to give that mermaidy feel ๐Ÿ™‚  Plus, their lace and fabric is to die for.  Ugh still haven’t gotten to try on my JBS dress…won’t get to until thursday I think…the wait is killing me!

The ballgown is definitely more flattering, but I’m also not a fan of the bustier seams. If you could put an overlay on the bodice it would be lovely.
