    Holy crap!  I knew it.  Did they just admit that they lied when you confronted them??  Fill us in!  As for the dresses, I think they’re both gorgeous, but ordering a new one with your wedding so close makes ME nervous.  Is there any way they can give you a BIG TIME discount for what they did?  AND maybe include free alterations?  SO sorry you’ve gone through this nonsense!  Please fill the bees in on where this place is – I’m guessing it’s nowhere near me, but at least it may help others!  Good luck!

    ETA: I’d keep the sample, unless you’re totally against it.  I wouldn’t trust this place in that a new dress could arrive in 2 weeks!!!

    It’s really hard to see the first one. But by looking at your picutres I would pick the second one. They’re not beautiful though!

    Wow, I can’t believe the store did that to you! It makes me so sad since I loved your dress so much. I would keep the sample and have them refund you AT LEAST 50% and free alterations. Or if you trust them to order it again and have it there in two weeks, they best be giving you some kind of discount.

    Dude.  Super shady.  Why would they try to lie!  That is bull.  I wish they had just been honest in the first place.  So rude.

    I do love your current dress but if you decided that you want to try on and order the other dresses by Sincerity I wanted to let you know that my dress is a Sincerity and I love it, excellent quality, really supportive in the bust area and a great price.

    I am sorry to hear this happened to you! I can’t believe they tried to lie about their mistake. That is so disgusting. I hope they give you a refund. Of the ones you posted I really like dress number 4! I love the sweathear neckline with the ruching. I hope everything works out!

    I just read your story so sorry to hear about the dress drama so close to your wedding! You definitely need to ask for a large discount. If I were in your position I would say this….


    Dear bridal salon owner (manager, whoever),

      I am deeply disheartened and disappointed by the way I was treated during my first fitting for my bridal gown at your salon (name of salon). I was led on to believe that the sample dress I was trying on and being fitted for was my actual dress that was brand new. I noticed a lipstick stain on the inside which was my first clue that either a) this was a sample dress or b) someone else has tried on my dress. When I brought the lipstick stain to my consultant’s attention she said it was hers. Very odd. How would her lipstick get on the inside of my brand new wedding dress unless she herself had tried it on previous to my appointment? Finally it came out that my dress had never actually been ordered because whoever was responsible for ordering it “forgot”. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the bridal salon would try to pass a sample gown off as my brand new dress, that is simply unacceptable. Flat out I was lied to. I was told that after ordering, my new dress, will arrive in 2 weeks. That will be 3 weeks before my wedding. Cutting it close is an understatement. I will still have to get all the alterations done as well as finalize all the other details for the big day. I hope you can understand just how upset I am. The situation has brought me so much unnecessary stress so close to my wedding day. I am respectfully asking for at least a 50% refund on my dress since I have already paid in full. I feel that that is the least you can do since I was so blatantly lied to and feel as if I was disrespected. I hope you can correct this situation accordingly and make me a happy customer once again.

    Sorry it’s so long but just thought that would sum it all up. I am not the kind of person to be shy when I have been wronged, if I’m not a happy customer I will definitely let whoever needs to know, know. I would for sure email the owner. Even if you want to get another dress, you should still demand at least 50% refund so you can sell the dress on pre owned wedding dresses and make back hopefully more than your total cost spent on the original dress.

    Again so sorry you’re going through this!! Hope that gives you some idea of how to phrase it!

    #2 is very pretty, but I agree with PPs that if you’re willing to wear the dress you “have” aka the sample, I’d keep it and push them for a massive discount on the basis of their horrible and possibly illegal behaviour.  If they aren’t willing to do that, then you get a full refund and go elsewhere.  I wouldn’t trust these people to order you a new dress in time! Who knows what they’ll try to pass off next time.

    I can’t believe you’re sticking with the same bridal salon. You must have the patience of a saint. Your first dress looks lovely but I think anything would because you have such a great figure. Best wishes!
