Hello Bees! This is my first post after spending many hours and days reading others.
I thought I would try a poll to get some unbiased opinions. Meaning my finace says “what ever you want” (of course he has only seen photos online, not of me in an actual dress) and my mom thinks everything looks great on me (you know how moms are).
I have seen many other boards of brides asking for opionin on dresses without giving a background of their wedding style. We plan to have a carnival themed wedding. Colorfull, outdoors, casual/rustic, and fun. I want something that encompases that fun/funky feeling and be sexy! Also, I am making a colorful brooch boquet so I don’t want it to clash with the dress. So for the AA and MS dresses I would probably remove the bling embellishments and maybe add a simple sash.
So these are the dresses up for vote:
1. Nicola by WTooo
2. #870 by Alfred Angelo
3. Divina by Maggie (I love the idea of being bold with the blush color, but should I do ivory?)
4. #5104 by Mori Lee (haven’t had a chance to try this one on in person yet)
So vote away and I appreciate the reasoning behind your vote!

How serious are you about the carnival theme? The first dress is pretty and whimsical. The Divinia is beautiful too but just not as circus-y.

They can all go great with the theme 🙂

We will be doing a rustic/carnival theme. Not over the top but this is some of what I have in progress or plan to execute:
Some games like a bean bag toss
Photo station with props as the guest book
I would love to hire a flame thrower, roaming magician or some sort of entertainment along those lines.
The Nicola dress looks nice in person (much much better than on the WToo model online) but I’m wondering if it’s really a “once in a life time” dress? I love the movement of the ruffles on the Divina and Alfred Angelo…the Nicola doesn’t have that kinds of movement.

Wow you have an amazing figure! The first dress totally nips in at the waist and accentuates your hips. What a great silhouette!!! And I think its the most whimsical for your theme. Love it on you!!!!

I think dress one would be perfect.

I LOVE the Nicola!!! It’s so whimsy and fun!

@ralessio: I LOOOOOVE the Divina on you in the blush! It looks SO good with your skin tone. Perfectly on trend and fun enough for a carnival wedding! It sort of reminds me of the girl who rides standing on the back of the horses (Like Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants)
I’m doing a brooch bouquet too and it didn’t even dawn on me to forgo the sparkly sash. I say keep it as is exactly! GORGEOUS! Do it!

Aww, I love all of them… although, I think the best to go with your theme is the Nicola! That dress is gorgeous and so much fun 🙂

I love them all, but I heard the brass band when I saw number one and two. It’s brass bands for a carnival right?

TheThis’d Nicola got my vote. It’s pretty and whimsical. It showcases your figure to perfection and the shapes on the skirt remind me of pinwheels, which if you’re going for a carnival theme is perfection. The only other I’d consider is perhaps Maggies Divina. I went for it is because of the blush/pink colour, which would also work very well with your theme, and also looks lovely on. I don’t think it would work for your theme as well in ivory, ivory would be for a more formal occasion in my mind.

I think the second is fun yet still classy!

Hrm. This is hard because honestly, you look great in all of them. I think the first dress is the most unique out of all of them – I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of dresses and that one, I’ve never seen, and I’ve never seen anything quite like it (although I have seen rosettes on a skirt – but something about that dress as a whole is unique). You have the body to pull of a dress with no ruching at all, clearly. I think it looks amazing on you. However, you look great in all of them! And that last one, I’m sure will look good on you, too.
Personally, though – I think because the first dress is most unique and because your body is MOST flattered by that dress, I would go with the first one.
