I’ve narrowed it down to two dresses and I’m trying to decide between the Ella 5434 and a Pallas Athena dress. Have any brides out there worn these dresses and would you mind sharing real life photos of you in the dress so I can see what it looks like and how it photographs? (You can photoshop your face out of the pictures). I can picture both dresses for my venues so it makes the decision difficult. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Any opinions on which dress you’d choose?

its a matter of personal taste for me. something about the sleeves i love on the Ella, or is it not attached? i just looked a little closer – just a bolero??
i like the Pallas Athena better. but i wish the top was not just straight strapless. if it were me wearing it, i would go with the Pallas Athena and sweetheart the neck

I prefer the Pallas Athena and I agree with @totheislnds: about the sweetheart neckline.

@totheislnds:The sleeves are detachable bolero that is ordered separately.
@Shooozy: I agree. If I end up with that one, i plan to put a slight sweetheart to the neckline.

i dont know what it is about sweetheart necklines vs the straight across that i like so much – i think it just gives the body a more feminine shape

have you tried either dress on? If so how did you feel in each one

I have tried both on and love them both. The Pallas is very flowy and romantic, while the Ella is on the more elegant side and body hugging. They seem to be on two different ends of the spectrum.

The Pallas Athena. I’ve seen that dress in another thread before and WOW’ed at it. It’s really pretty.

I love them both! Its so hard.

Without knowing your body type, or venue, I am only going by the style of the dress itself and the time of year of your wedding being the fall. In which case, I chose the Ella as I think it suits autumn nicely. Good luck!

I love the Ella, especially with the bolero. It really makes it something special. It’s hard to tell though what you should buy without us seeing you in them. But Ella looks like a dress that would be flattering for lots of body types.

You have all been really helpful! It was a close race in the polls, but I ended up with the Pallas Athena. I tried on the Ella dress again and the floral applique on the hip seemed to be in an odd place for me. I’m 5’2″ so it was sitting just a little too low for me. Even with the petite size it would not have looked right. I think I made the right choice. I can’t wait until it comes!
