So I finally went dress shopping. I went in adamant that I wanted a long sleeve sheath dress or maybe a-line. I quickly nixed sleeved because none of them looked right and just let the consultant take the lead. She was wonderful and it was overall a really positive experience. There were two dresses that I felt were contenders.
This is more what I had in mind going into this appointment. High neck, slimmer silhouette. I really like it and it’s within budget.
This was the resounding favorite. It is the opposite of what I thought I’d want. I was totally sure I didn’t want sleeveless and def not a ball gown- although this is a slimmer ball gown and I would remove a layer of puff from the skirt. I really felt bridal in this, but it’s $400 more than the other dress so it’s hard to justify.

Other pic of dress 2. Sorry, I’m uploading from my phone and it seems to keep deleting them

Of these two, the Dress 2 is the winner IMO. The Dress 1 cuts you in half at the waist and doesn’t seem to compliment your shape nearly as well as Dress 2. But if you aren’t entirely happy with it, keep looking.

I don’t like dress 1 at all. It just doesn’t look right. Dress 2 by far is prettier! Can you try it with a thin blingy belt?

Dress 2 with the detachable sleeves looks amazing on you. I’m not a fan of dress 1 at all.

Dress #2 (strapless ballgown) looks amazing on you and does terrific things for your figure.
Dress #1, I’m sorry to say, is not as flattering to your body as Dress #2. I think it veers towards looking matronly. =(

Dress 2 is absolutely stunning, especially with the veil!!

I think dress 1 makes you look boxy and shapeless, especially your waist. Dress 2 is beautiful. I love the shape for you and the simple fabric. It is so much more flattering than the first dress

I agree with everyone on Dress 1, you look way too young for the dress and its not flattering. Your shape is beautiful in the ball gown.

I am a huge sleeve fan but it doesn’t always work out. Dress #2 looks AMAZING on you! With or without the detattchable sleeves it’s a winner. When I found my dress I contunied to keep shopping just to make sure. I am not sure how dress shopping is with covid but if you go dress shopping one or two more times and are still thinking about #2 then you’ll know. Best of luck!

The ballgown looks great with the detachable sleeves. Without the sleeves it’s a little too plain in my book. The sleeves give it a touch of oomph. Dress 1 is not flattering at all.

I would keep looking. Dress 2 is more flattering on you than dress 1, but you don’t look so happy in it. Not everyone gets the bursting into tears moment in the right dress, but you should feel really relaxed and confident in your dress, and I’m not getting that feeling from you in dress 2. Maybe going from sleeves to strapless is too big a jump and you’d be happier with having a design that has shoulder straps like the first one?

Definitely dress 2!!! Definitely! Definitely!

Dress #1 isn’t flattering. Something is off with the top. It looks a little boxy. Dress #2 looks amazing on you!!! But if you don’t really like it, then keep looking!
