I think you look gorgeous in both, however I prefer dress two.

I prefer dress #1 but I think dress #2 looks the best on you.

If you didn’t want to take dress 2 off and you knew it was the one, then dress 2  is your dress. Who cares what a bunch of random people say on the internet. Your dress is about YOU and how you feel – it’s not about your parents, or siblings, or friend or even Fiance. That said, I prefer dress 2. The top of dress 1 looks dated to me.

gunnabamissus :  i don’t reallt love either one, and both for the same reason…they both seem to have a dropped waistline which isn’t just making the bodices of the dresses look far too long on you (and not doing anything for your waist). I think you look gorgeous in a ballgown, and would suggest that you look for one where the skirt hits at the natural waist instead of dropped.

gunnabamissus :  your belly button isn’t your waist! (: your natural waist is typically 1-3 inches ABOVE your belly button (depending on your torso length)

gunnabamissus :  i feel your pain – i have a short torso too! but if you have a short torso, your belly button likely isn’t 3 inches below your waist – i think mine is more like an inch. having just a *slightly* higher sitting skirt means that it will hit at the very smallest part of your torso. if you look closely at your pics right now, you can see that from your bust, your torso gets narrower and narrower, and then, about an inch from the skirt, starts widening again. you can see the curve of your waist in the dress and then see that the skirt sits below that. if you raise the skirt slightly, it will be so much more flattering. excuse the poorly marked up picture, but i tried to draw in where you waistline actually is – you can see that there’s still plenty of bodice, and your boobs are not at all at your waist!

I was deciding between 3 dresses when I was torn the stylist told me to ask myself which one I found myself imagining myself in more.  That helped me narrow it down to the dress I eventually chose, as did going back another time to try the dress on again.  Often it can feel like so much pressure in the moment and going back helped me feel more calm (I think I visited my top 2 dresses 3 or more times each before I made a decision).  It also sounds like your mom is getting in your head, can you go back without you?  I actually enjoyed my dress shopping the most when I went by msyelf because then I didn’t have other people clouding my judgment when ultimately it’s MY dress.

If the second one felt like it was the one then it was!! If you go to another bridal salon, make sure they have dress #2 so you can compare anything you like to it!

Here is my story: when I tried on wedding dresses I didn’t think I would like the one I did at all! Someone insisted i try it on and as they were pulling it up I was looking down like “this is too much lace I’m going to hate this dress” as soon as I looked in the mirror my first thought was “this is the dress I’m going to marry (fiancé) in!” I couldn’t pull the trigger so I tried on some dresses that were more in line with what I thought I wanted. I would find a dress I loved and then try “my dress” back on and completely forgot about the one I just loved! Even the bridal store manager (who knew that if I chose that dress I would buy it somewhere else) said “I can see why you like this dress. It looks so amazing on you” I ended up buying it from her because there was a trunk sale going on so I got a % off!

Anyway, make sure you can still try this dress on in case you find something else you like. And if nothing else gives you that “feeling” then just get the one that does!!

The second one is best! It sits smoother at the waistline and I like the lace ‘trickling’ down to the skirt.
