So I have two dresses I’m debating about wearing. My bridesmaids are split on the dresses, so that doesn’t help. My ceremony and reception will be held at a vineyard and is basically an outdoor wedding. I’ve had the satin gown since February, but never really liked it once it came in after it was ordered. I just purchased the lacey/romantic gown today, since I had the budget and really didn’t like my satin gown, but now I have to decide whether to wear only one, or both. My bridesmaid all have black dresses in different styles. The theme of the wedding is Black and Ivory Damask. Im thinking about wearing the satin with black sash for the ceremony and pictures, and then changing into the romantic dress for the reception, as I love the boho look and it fits my personality more. Any preferences ladies?

The one with black belt looks much better….

Satin with sash, hands down.

I like both but the satin and black sash one would definitely work better with the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and theme. The lace one is very pretty though.
side note… your dog is adorable!

The satin one seems more wedding-y to me, but that’s perfect for your plan! Wear the satin one for the ceremony and the lace for the reception.

Haha thanks, hes my little pride and joy, he’s flying across country to attend the wedding.

I love the boho – airy look of the tiered one. I would go with that one especially because it sounds like this one is more your style and you do not LOVE the one with the black sash (seems like I may be alone in this opinion though 😉

I agree with you! You are not alone!
I think the lace one is very romantic. And I like the bust!

The second looks more formal bridal to me. The first is a bit too casual for my taste.

I can’t believe I’m typing this, because nothing about me is at all boho, but, aside from the fact that I personally think that the tiered, lace dress shows too much cleavage for my level of comfort, I like it better than the satin dress with the sash. It’s very pretty, and it’s different, and I think it would look lovely with your venue. That being said, however, I would have to find a solution to the cleavage issue (maybe ordering and adding a piece of matching lace inside of the front of the dress?)

Your boobs look amazing in the first dress!

- Wedding: September 2011 - Bent Creek Winery (Livermore, California); Reception: Family Residence (San Ramon, California)
Your original dress is so gorgeous! I love everything about it, and you look amazing in it! I also think it looks more appropriate for a vineyard wedding.

I like the boho dress SO much more than the satin.

The lace tiered dress I think would be better for a garden wedding, and it sounds like you really don’t like the satin dress. Have you thought about shortening the satin dress to a cocktail length and wearing it for your rehearsal or for later in the wedding night so you don’t have to dance the whole night in the long dress?
