I need some Bee help please!
I’m not a very impulsive person, and I like to take time to choose important things, so I’m not surprised that I didn’t have a clear favorite when trying on dresses! Before trying on, I picture myself in a satin mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline. After trying many dresses on, my favorites have been lace dresses with the keyhole back.
My wedding will be one week before my 25th birthday in the month of June. The ceremony will be at a cathedral, and the reception will be at a very vintage themed room from the early 1900s with ornate gold detailing throughout the room. I think that I like the lace dresses because they fit more with my classic, elegant theme.
I know that I shouldn’t care what other people think, but it should only matter how I feel in the dress. I just want to make sure I’m not being crazy when I say that I hope these dresses don’t make me look “old”. I’ve really liked so many dresses, and I’ve fallen in love with these two. They are very similar, so it is hard to choose!
Any opinions or advice would be appreciated!
Alfred Angelo Dress – The very first one I tried on. Not as sparkly or blingy as the next dress, but its a little more open in the midriff area. The keyhole is also a little bigger in the back…I think! I tried it on twice now. I like this in white.
This is the model picture:
Maggie Sottero Dress: This dress is a lot more sparkley than the Alfred Angelo. The sample size was a size 12, and I’m closer to a 2 or 4..so I’m not sure how much material is going to be in the top part. The bridal associate tried to pull it tight to see how fitted it could really be. I only hesitate because I don’t want this dress to be “too modest” for my age and style. This color is ivory over gold, but I would probably go with white.
thank you 🙂

I voted for the first dress. I feel like the top is more flattering with the thinner straps.

I love how the second dress looks on you. I have seen it on a LOT of other brides though. Even so, it’s still one of the prettiest dresses I’ve seen. The first one is gorgeous on you as well, you really can’t go wrong!

I agree with bichon frise, you have gorgeous shoulers so the alfred angelo dress is deffinetly more flattering with the thinner straps, however they are both stunning on you!

I like them both but I LOVE the second. The detail is so amazing, I LOVE the lace and the sparkle, it’s just perfect!

The first one flatters you so much more. I like the openness of the neckline. But you look beautiful in either gown

I think the top in the first dress is more flattering! (:

Love dress #2. But I’m a sucker for a blingy belt 🙂

Both gowns are gorgeous and look beautiful on you. They also have a very similar look to them. I agree with PPs that the top of the first dress is more flattering to you, but I think that the second gown is much richer and more expensive looking. I can see why you’re torn! However, after looking at the back of the dress as well as the front, and taking all of the aforementioned factors into consideration, I think I like the Maggie best, so I voted for that!

Both of these are stunning dresses that look incredible on you. I voted for the second dress, there is something about it that just made me say WOW.

I love the first one just a little more, I also like the thinner straps, but gosh they’re both stunning on you!

I don’t feel like you can choose wrong here, both are lovely… but I prefer the second dress slightly more. 🙂

Alfred. I think the thicker straps on the Maggie overwhelm you a bit.

I vote for the first one! I don’t think i like the belt embellishment on the second dress as well as too full covereage on the top.

i strongly prefer the Alfred Angelo. to me, the thinner straps are much more feminine as well as more flattering 🙂 and i love the little dots on the tulle.
dress #1 is a 10/10!
