I have a wedding this weekend (evening, cocktail) and had a dress all ready to go when i found this one at the back of my wardrobe. I’ve only worn it once and love it so now I’m thinking of changing plans.
I’m usually quite a modest dresser though so this is a lot more cleavage than I’m used to. So bees is it too revealing for a wedding? Which option should I go with?

I love the new dress. And I don’t think it’s too revealing, I wouldn’t have minded someone wearing that at my wedding.

New. But maybe bring a sweater for the ceremony just in case you feel cold or out of place.

I think they’re both good options. If you are uncomfortable now though with the cleavage you might want to bring a shawl.

I like the new dress ten times better but personally would not wear it to a wedding.

youngbrokebride : Definitely the first one! I think it’s the right amount of cleave

Definitely #1, but I would run out to a seamstress and have the straps shortened. If you ask nicely, they can likely do it for you very quickly.
The second is not a cocktail dress.

New look nicer, but with shawl/cardigan, or pull/resew the strap a bit so a bit less cleavage, but that is just my personal preference.

I like the new dress but feel like it would be better to wear at a cocktail party but definitely not to a wedding.

Well, l like the second dress but l wonder if it is dressed-up enough? I think it looks like a day dress . The first looks like an expensive slip/ lingerie to me. Nice, but lots of you showing!

Thanks for the responses so far bees!
zl27 : You can’t tell from the picture, but the maroon dress has built in cups so you can’t shorten the straps without the front sitting funny. I tried that, hoping I could sew or pin it myself 🙁

There’s a huge difference in level of formality between those 2 dresses. Dress #2 isn’t a cocktail dress, it looks like something I’d wear to work or to church.
I like the new one better but the straps are a bit too long – it looks like you have some side-boob exposed. It sounds like shortening the straps isn’t possible, so I’d pair it with some sort of a wrap.

youngbrokebride : it didn’t provide you with a little lift?

I love the new dress and your boobs look amazing as is. The old dress seems like a casual daytime summer dress.

Cups or no cups the top of the first dress needs to move up a bit for that dress to fit you properly. You may be fine with a wrap. The second dress looks too casual for an evening wedding.
