I will be a guest at 2 weddings in the next 2 weeks and can’t decide what to wear. They are not black tie but are both expensive events in very expensive locations so I think the dress code will be more upscale. Everything I have feels too casual, or looks like a bridesmaid dress! (because it was…)
Dress #1 (too low cut for a wedding?)
Dress #2 (is navy too dark for an afternoon/evening wedding?)
Dress #3 (looks too much like a bridesmaid dress?)
Dress #4 (too casual?)
Dress #5 (too casual?)

My pick would be dress 2. Classic. If Victoira Beckham can wear navy to a lunchtime wedding then so can you.

Dress #2 is the most appropriate. Dress #1 is cute but way too casual for a formal wedding. Love Dress #4, but it’s not a formal dress. Dress #5 looks like a nightie (sorry). Are these afternoon or evening events?

beethree : Thanks! That is my fear exactly, that 1, 4 and 5 are all too casual. The ceremonies are in the afternoon around 4 or 5, with the reception to follow. I was trying to expand my repetoire because I have worn 2 and 3 to multiple weddings already. I’m trying to go through the guest lists in my head to figure out who will have seen me in which ones in the past!

I think you might need a new dress…2 + 3 do look like bridesmaids dresses, #1 which looks good but is too casual and #4 which I think you could make work if you had to with the right shoes, bag and accessories. #5 is way too casual.

#2 is great! Who cares if it looks like a bridesmaid dress? Every bride I’ve ever been a bm for has cheerfully told me the dress she picked is sooo versatile I can totally wear it again! So even if that was a bm dress, this would be your big chance to wear it again lol.
#1 is cute but i wouldn’t wear it to a formal/fancyish wedding…I think it would work for a beach wedding though.
#4 – I actually think this could work if you dressed it up with a pair of really nice heels and some bling.
Not a big fan of #5 – too casual I think.
#3 looks kinda white to me?

Yup, #2! #3 is my second favorite. The others are a little too casual for an upscale event.

Thanks everyone! To clarify, I need to pick 2 dresses. I can’t wear #2 to one of the weddings, because I will be at a table with the girl whose wedding I wore it to as a bridesmaid.
I almost definitely won’t have time to go shopping for a new dress but maybe I should check out rent the runway or something like that…

1 – too casual and revealing
2 – fine
3 – probably okay if you skip the bouquet (!)
4 – a little casual
5 – is that a dress or lingerie?
Number 2 is the best option.

2 through 4 would be fine, especially if you dress 4 up with accessories. 1 is super cute and you look hot – but more like pool party hot.

2 and 3 are the only two that are wedding appropriate (the others are far too casual), so I would go with those two or check out rent the runway like you mentioned!

I think dresses 2, 3, and 4 would all work. 4 is a bit less formal, but could actually be super cool and trendy if you dress it up with the right accessories! (Hair up, dangly earrings, strappy heels?)
If you feel like you’ve worn these options to too many events already, it could be a good time to go shopping 😜

Separates are a good option, particularly if you get invited to many semi formal/formal events, since you can play around with each piece. Something like this could work:
