Whitetoes:  1.5mm is very delicate, and I would be a little nervous that it may warp.  Have you tried both of these settings on?  I went on http://www.diamdb.com/ and plugged in a 1.2 oval on 5.75 finger, with both size bands.  Here is how it will look.  I prefer the 1.8mm, as I’ve heard from many bee’s on here that a lot of jewelers won’t do bands below 1.8 or even 2mm for durability purposes.

I think the 1.8mm looks nicer and it will be stronger than the 1.5mm

1.5 with pave just is not enough metal to be durable so I say 1.8

Omg  that bring is TO DIE FOR!!  Im seriously drooling.   Oval was my second choice.  Absolutely stunning.  I prefer thinner band because it really highlights that rock but if you’re  concerned about strength  I’d  go with thicker.

Whitetoes:  mine is Ritani! That exact ring that you posted! platinum too. I know everyone on here is saying that 1.5 is too flimsy, but I have never had a problem with my ring at all. Ritani rings are soooo well made and there is no way that thing is bending. I am so happy I went with the 1.5 because I feel that the thinner band/halo really makes the center stone look Huge.

Whitetoes:  I think both look beautiful, but I would definitely choose the 1.8 mm. I chose a 2 mm band for my ring (an oval halo as well, but with a plain band), and I’m so happy I didn’t go thinner than that cause it would look weird and would be too delicate for everyday wear. You really need to think about durability as you will wear this ring for the rest of your life and I honestly don’t think the visible difference will be that significant. 1.8 mm. is still VERY thin ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck – I hope you make the right choice ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s my 1.5mm band, ring size is 4.75.

My jeweler is confident and stands by the fact that 1.5 is plenty durable and especially if it is platinum, you’ll be fine. I got my hand stuck in a door (goofy teenage students fooling around… boy did they feel bad!) and it did warp, but he said it would happen with up to a 2mm band and 1.5mm isn’t making such a difference.
