I don’t understand why anybody would pay the Tiffany markup.

How about asking the lovely people at Pricescope to help you source a diamond and recommend a jeweler to do a custom setting?

There are plenty of reputable jewelers who wouldn’t dream of switching your diamond.

dxnyc :  I voted for the smallest one because I don’t personally like big jewellery but it would be easier to give a truly honest opinion if you could share pictures of each on your hand

I find it odd that you say you have chosen Tiffany because of their customer service and reputation, yet you’ve had such a poor customer service experience at your closest location. To be honest, that would certainly make me think twice about spending Tiffany prices. As romantic an idea that the little blue box is, the prices combined with your poor experience seem like two big red flags.

That said, Tiffany obviously has gorgeous rings. The Seleste is beautiful. I’d go with the smallest size you have listed. An almost half carat diamond isn’t exactly tiny, and it’s definitely going to look sizeable combined with the double halo. I also love large stones, but if I were in your position I don’t know that I’d splash out $16,000 for something that I could get elsewhere for a fraction of that cost. The stats on the smaller stones may not be as good, but to be honest I personally don’t think that any of the stones are necessarily priced fairly. If I were going to overpay, I’d rather overpay on a smaller scale. That’s just me, though. If money is no object, go huge… but I think the fact that you’re so undecided tells a different story. Go with what you love and can comfortably afford.
