This is for my baby shower but I can get everyone’s advice so I put it in the lounge!
ETA: Shower starts at 11:30am but lunch won’t be immediately served to allow for mingling time. 🙂
Unfortunately we won’t be hitting the # required for a buffet so I have to choose ONE option for all guests. Bummer.
So which of these two would YOU like?
1. Lemon and herb roasted chicken
Roasted chicken with lemon and fresh herbs served with a lemony sauce
2. Sliced Top round of beef with bordelaise
Bordelaise sauce is a classic French sauce named after the Bordeaux region of France, which is famous for its wine. The sauce is made with dry red wine, bone marrow, butter, shallots and sauce demi-glace. Sauce marchand de vins (“wine-merchant’s sauce”) is a similar designation. Traditionally, bordelaise sauce is served with grilled beef or steak, though it can also be served with other meats that pair well with red wine demi-glace based sauces.
There will be seperate options for dietary restrictions such as vegeterian & gluten free.

I am obsessed with bordelaise sauce. Definitely has my vote.

I feel like you can never go wrong with chicken. 🙂

I think chicken would be the safer option since you have to pick just one.

I think chicken is more of a crowd-pleaser. There’s lots of people (particularly women) who don’t eat red meat but will eat chicken.

@regberadaisy: What time of day is your baby shower?
I feel like the beef option sounds amazing but would be REALLY heavy for an afternoon/lunch meal.

I think chicken is a much safer option.

I really prefer beef, but I would probably choose the chicken if I were you. It seems to appeal to a wider audience.

I voted for the beef in your poll, since you asked which one I’d like.
But I would choose the chicken as a “crowd-pleaser”.

I think chicken is your best bet because I think more people would be happy with that over the beef. As PP stated, the time of day also plays a part.

My shower starts at 11:30 but lunch won’t be served immediately.
I was leaning towards chicken as well as a “crowd pleaser”.

@regberadaisy: I think the chicken is the best bet. The beef would be my choice but for a lunch time meal it is realy rich and heavy.

I agree with a PP that chicken is more of a crowd pleaser but they both sound amazing!!!
