I am trying to solidify my decor ideas, and favors have been one of those things that I keep going back to. I have a few ideas, but I can’t really decide which one I like best.
Background: The centerpieces will be blue Ball jars with fresh flowers, then we’ll have smaller clear jars for candles that are decorated with ribbon/crochet lace, as well as random glass bottles
So, for the favors, I figured I would utilize the jar theme and use either 4oz or 8oz jars for the favors.
So, here are a few of my ideas. Let me know if you like one of these best, or if you have another idea that I hadn’t thought of. I would love the feedback!
Thanks in advance!
1. Jar with candy Inside at each place setting. They would be decorated w/ fabric and ribbon like homemade jam jars.
2. Jar at each place setting with card either inside or in front of it that has instructions to fill it at the Candy Bar (same idea, but more interactive)
3. Jar with scented candle inside

I vote either of the two candy ones but the candy bar would be my favorite! Edible is always best for favors in my book!

Personally, I would prefer the candy bar – but that’s because I understand the concept of what the candy bar is. I think that more of the non-wedding obsessed would prefer the jar at their place.

@jenandchris: I know, right? How can people not understand a candy bar! Go up, get your candy out of a jar! So simple, and yet when I tell some people they’re like “Yeah, but would people actually like that?”
Who doesn’t like candy?!?!

Candy Bar! I think its nice to let people choose what they want.

I think candy bars are also great because they give people something to do other than dance or eat :). I’m sure they’re happy to do both, lol, but it’s something that breaks the wedding up in a good way.

candy bar! i’ve only been to one wedding that had a candy bar but no one seemed to have any trouble figuring it out. even my dad was up there, and i can assure you, he has never read a wedding blog in his life.
this is totally random and you can just ignore me, but having seen alice in wonderland recently, it could be cute if you put a tag around the jars that says “FILL ME” (instead of EAT ME/DRINK ME). but maybe you’d have to have alice on the brain to get it…

I think the candy bar fill-it-yourself idea is best, because then people can also choose their favourite candies!

candy bar! then i can get as much or as little candy as i want. i’ve only attending one function with a candy bar [a baptism…the father’s a wedding photog so he’s seen it done a lot] and it was super popular with everyone.

Another vote for the candy bar!

We did a version of the candy bar (with trail mix) at our wedding and people figured it out pretty easily, I vote for that one! I like the idea of providing an array of things to do for the guests to get them up and moving. I love your use of the jars!

I love scented candles so my vote goes to that. I personally can care less for a candy bar.

I’m with @azureori – not a candy fan, and I LOVE candles. Plus, they’re expensive to buy, so I would definitely appreciate the gift.

I’m definitely down with edible favors, but I think it’s a little bit more personal to give an individual favor. My friend’s MIL put together a beautiful candy bar with all kinds of candies the color of their wedding colors. The only bad part was that the kids pretty much ransacked it throughout the night, and it was a mess by the time everyone left! Lol.
