I am TORN between these two favor ideas!!!! Can you help me decide?
Idea #1 A heart shaped sugar cookie (handmade by US) with a heart cookie cutter and a sugar cookie recipe.
Idea #2 Our colors are blue and purple so alternating by person (purple blue purple blue). A purple or blue rock candy (I always loved these as kids and thought they were sooo pretty!) with a little tag that says LOVE IS SWEET
My concerns are the cookies would have to be made the night before and I think my girls and I will be completely stressed out. Plus what if they burn? My concern with the rock candy is that people may not like the flavors since purple is usually grape and blue I believe is raspberry.
Both of these would be inexpensive wedding favors 🙂

I love rock candy so that got my vote!

I love rock candy, and it has the added bonus of being way less stressful 🙂

I love love love rock candy and it’s not something people have everday. I vote for that one.

I’d like the cookies better, but they sound like SO MUCH WORK(!) that I’d do the rock candy instead. Save yourself some stress!

Rock Candy. Very unique as I have about 20 heart shaped cookie cutters from various weddings/showers.

I would like the cookie much better. Is there a reason you couldn’t premake the cookies and then freeze them? Sugar cookies, in my experience, freeze very well, even with icing on them.

I can’t stand rock candy since it is just colored sugar water so I would go for the cookie!

I think favors are way overdone and completely unnecessary. If you have to do one, I would go with the rock candy. Not because I particularly like it, but because I think all those cookie cutters would be a waste for most people.
I would however not alternate the colors of rock candy. It would make your tables look spotty. You could have purple at one table and blue at another.

Great point! Thanks!
I NEVER thought of that!!!!

I was going to suggest the same thing!
We’re doing a cookie buffet for our favors, with FI’s grandma and my mom/I making them all. We’re making them now and freezing them and they will be just as yummy in March!! I like the cookie idea more just because it seems more “formal” if that makes sense. I feel like rock candy, which is good, might come across as more informal.
You wouldn’t have to do a heart, unless you’re set on it and it’s a part of your theme. We are doing our “signature” cookie in the shape of an ‘N’, which is the initial of our last name. This is a great site for cutters and you can find a huge variety if you want to consider a different shape.

I LOVE the idea of the initial!

I say rock candy…can you make it or are you buying it? The reason I ask is maybe you could use food coloring for a different, more liked flavor?

I’m doing rock candy as well, but the hard-tack version. I’m making it myself and it is going in small glass jars. The candy will be dyed to look like seaglass. With our beachy theme, it works out well. I think that either would be fine. And I’m with some of the other girls, I know that the sugar cookies do freeze really well. They should keep for about 3 months in the freezer.

I am trying to decide
It is nice to know someone else is thinking of the rock candy as well!
