Really neither of those would seem a good gift to me, especially if they are the only gift. A hanger, meh, I know my name and I’ve got a million hangers. Bridesmaid tumbler? Nope. That’s getting shoved to the back of the cabinet the day after your wedding because I’m a person, not a permanent bridesmaid.

Figure out your budget then shop for them like you’d shop for their birthday: something fun, personal, non-wedding-related and just for them.

Honestly… neither, but if I had to choose one, the hanger. I could at least use that in my closet, where as the tumbler, I’d never use again.

Both are really cute, but I always think it’s best to get the bridal party something that’s not so “wedding”. The tumblers with the names are great and useful, but if you do go with them I personally would not put “bridesmaid”, “maid of honor”, etc. Though the hangers would make for a great photo op, they are completely useless, and after the wedding will literally be put into a closest.

Maybe if you did decide to go with the hangers, you could get them a robe or something to go with it? They could wear it the day of the wedding while you guys got ready, and it would absolutely be something they used afterwards.

I like the tumblers with just my name, not ‘bridesmaid’

honestly… they’re both cute… but i wouldn’t use them apart for on the wedding day. If you’re going to do tumblers, perhaps just get plain tumblers. no monograms, no bridesmaids, no wedding date… I love the vino to go tumblers, perhaps look at those? they’re different, and super cute!

The hangers are cute for pictures… but I would probably toss it after the wedding. I have coordinated hangers in my closet, and one bulky hanger would throw me off. (but thats just me!)

Have you considered doing individual gifts for each girl? ie. if you have a girl who loves reading, get her a new book, or a girl who loves coffee, get her the tumbler or some sort of coffee gift basket, If a bm is a really old friend get her a personalized 2 picture, photo frame and put a picture of when you were younger and leave the other one empty for a photo you guys will take together at teh wedding. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but I would prefer having a more personalized gift that you put thought into than a generic gift (especially one that says “bridesmaid” or your wedding date.)

The tumblers could be cute if they didn’t have their names on them and I might get use out of that. I don’t really have use for a personalized hanger though. If they say Bridesmaid or Best Man or MOH- I would never use them again.

I actually received a tumbler with my initials on it and a wine glass with my name. I have never used either of them.

I also bought myself a ‘Mrs. B’ hanger for my wedding dress and I haven’t used it since the wedding.

I think you should look into different gifts.

The hanger is slightly better than the cup, but if you want something that someone will use after your wedding is over (because otherwise, it’s not really a gift, but a photo prop) then it shouldn’t have the word “bridesmaid” on it.

I am getting girls tumblers – but they all use tumblers on a regular basis. I just put their first name initial on it with using their favourite colours.

If this is all you’re considering, I’d get them both. They’re both essentially photo props for your wedding, but I would spend more than $10 per girl considering the amount of money/time I’m assuming they’re putting in.

I have two of the hangers (Only they are engraved vs wires— I read the wires tend to bend easily)– but either way I use the hangers all the time.

Is this going to be the only item you are giving your BMs?

I found a few things that weren’t wedding related, but still were usable on the wedding day– and as far as I know, everyone loves them and I see the girls using them still!!

I bought them each a different pattern of a Petunia PIckel Bottom Powder case. I even got one for myself– and it’s in my bag right now. I have 3 total for personal use, and they’re very versatile. They can be used as a clutch or as a make-up bag. The pockets are very functional.

Then I got them each a sterling silver ring– a disc with thier first initial on them. Those were off of etsy. They were unique, personalized- but not in that cheezy way– and they simple. They all wore them on teh day of the wedding (although I didn’t make them) and I know my sister and one of my SILs wear thiers everyday!

No offense, but if these re your only gifts you are giving them, they seem a little generic– like there wasn’t much thought put into them and you’re getting them something just because you have to.

If these were just part of something to wanted to do for your girls for the day of, I think they are OK.
