I like the first name better but dislike the spelling for both, and don’t understand the new trend of spelling names with as much difficulty as possible…
Madison is a very pretty name, but Reagan is something different and yet not too far out there. I really like Reagan. 🙂
madison is too common for me. i like Reagan 🙂
Reagan is on my top 10 list, so I voted for it. 🙂 I like that it’s not as trendy as the Madelyn/Madison/Madisyn/Maddie thing is yet.
I would go for Madison. Reagan reminds me way to much of former deceased president Ronald Reagan…
@kmarie719: How would you spell those names? They look pretty normal to me.
OP, no offense but neither of those names do it for me. Reagan reminds me of the former president and Madison is too popular/trendy. But I guess if I had to choose, I’d pick Madison.
@kmarie719: …….that would probably be considered the “normal” spelling for both names. James Madison, Madison, WI, and, well, Reagan. That’s the only way I’ve ever seen that one spelled. Maybe Regan.
I think both are nice, OP, I live in Madison though, so I vote Reagan since I don’t immediately think “city”.
I had them spelled differently at first, as Madisyn and Raegan but thats because those are the only ways I have ever seen them spelled:/
I don’t know a single girl named Madison or a single person who named their daughter Madison. I’m SHOCKED to hear it’s trendy! It was in my top 4 list of M-girl names – Madison, Mackenzie, Marilyn and Monroe were the names I had picked for girls. I like M names.. and funny enough, my FI’s name starts w/ an M and we have to use it for our boys and I’ve always wanted all my kids to have the same initial (I’m crazy, I know) and funny how life works out, huh??? Imagine his name started with a Q! What girls names would I come up with then?!
@sexisammy4u: No worries! The “y” is very trendy right now for some reason. I say this as if I’m a baby name expert, hahaha. Yeah, right.
I’ve seen Madison like this: Madison, Madisen, Maddison, Madisyn, Maddysen, Mattison. The last two are way weird to me.
I’ve seen Reagan: Reagan, Ragan, Regan, Reagin, Reagyn. I’d never seen it Raegan before, but it isn’t that out of left field. I know lots of people with the middle name “Rae.”
I’m a teacher and trust me, Madison is insanely popular right now. There must be 2 in each class. I still voted for it, though, because I just don’t like Reagan for a little girl.
I’m not a huge fan of either.
Reagan makes me think of Regan from King Lear. She’s not a very nice person in King Lear, so I think that makes me dislike the name.
Neither, sorry. If you made me choose, Madison.
