We’re getting pictures taken in August for our anniversary and I’m getting my color done, I’m torn on going darker, lighter, or staying the same!
Naturally, I’m a medium to dark dirty blonde (Level 7 and a half for all you girls out there that know hair lingo).
I kept it blonde all through highschool (highlights and low lights) and in college a few years ago I started dying it dark brown. It’s a lot of upkeep for me, I did my roots every 3 weeks and had to do my all over color usually every other month, maybe two, because the color would fade so fast.
I really, really regret for our wedding last year keeping my hair so dark! My husband’s family all insisted they liked it dark brown so I did. Now I feel like our wedding pictures look nothing like me. Some people still insist I look best with dark but since I’ve gone back to blonde I litteraly get my hair touched up every 4 months or so andd I’m enjoying the laziness!
I’m torn though on if I’ve gotten too light and if I should go heavier on the lowlights. I don’t want to look too washed out or fake blonde. I’d like to have nice photos of us that actually look like me this time!

I like your hair in the second photo the most. It is still blonde but looks very natural and care-free. The top photo you look very young and the up-keep is a lot. The mid-tone brown in the third and fourth photos make you look very mature. The dark brown from your wedding day is very pretty but I prefer the blonde with lowlights on you.

Thank you I agree! The first and second picture were actually taken within about a week of each other (it’s just the sun making it brighter) but I like the lowlights to show too. The one int he red dress is pretty much my natural color (the one at Christmas was when I had the first full highlight done to get rid of the dark, the second one after was closer to actual color).

You look gorgeous either way!
I like light blonde or dark brunette on you.
The dark blonde looks kind of soccer mom to me.

Wow, you actually look really good with both! I think I like it best in pic #3 and I think if it’s less upkeep, then it’s a winner.

I should probably also mention with the dark hair, I was very very tan then! As in I had been using tanning beds for months to prepare for the wedding! So if for any reason my complexion seems to have more color when I’m brunnette let me just throw that in there, lol sometimes I have to remind myself that even.

I like the dark brown but I usually like that color on people more than blonde for some reason. Also, you have fabulous hair!!!!! I’m also in the camp of do whatever is easier for you and takes less time. Ultimately, you are beautiful either way!!!

I think all of these choices suit you well. I like pic 4 the best. Looks a little darker with some red hues!

First of all, you are absolutely beautiful! You look great in every color. However, I completely understand why you don’t feel as if you see yourself in your wedding photos.
I really love your hair in the first two photos, especially the second picture.

I like the ligt blonde best, by far. It looks very natural on you and goes with your eyes and skin color. The dark brown seems a bit unnatural to me. I always wonder why others care how much up-keep YOU have lol. And if dark brown is not your natural color either (like you said), you would have to dye it as well and thus have up-keep.

I agree with PP, you are absolutely gorgeous and look beautiful no matter what the hair color. I also like the 2nd picture the best and to me, anything that takes less maintenance is the best choice. Add to that, you look completely stunning with the choice that takes less maintenance which to me makes it a clear choice!

Your hair color looks amazing in the first and second picture! 🙂

I do like the brunette best, but I’m lazy and the blonde looks nice too, so if it’s easier I’d go with that.

Both the 2nd photo (light blonde?) and the dark brunette look stunning on you, if the blonde is easier to maintain I would go with that – because I’m lazy 😛

I voted light blonde! I think it looks the most natural on you (well cuz it is more natural for you, duh, lol). I don’t hate the dark brown but after seeing you as a blonde the brown just looks off to me in some way. Definitely go with the color from the first 2 pics! You’re gorgeous and have stunning hair!
