I need some opinions!
My finance and I had a custom engagement ring created to replicate this one that I saw at a jewellery store. He proposed last night :)! however the ring looks nothing like it was supposed to. He thought the same. So we now have the option to bring it back and get it “fixed” although I am really not sure how they would fix it… or keep it.
I have attached images of the ring I have and also of the one from the store. I LOVE the big bulky halo that the store ring has (and that is with a .7 centre stone), whereas mine has such a tiny, hidden halo even with a 1 carat stone! I was expecting it to be huge when instead it is so much smaller!!!
Let me know what you girls think… I also love the more vintage look.
Here’s my ring..
And on my finger…
And here’s the one we were trying to replicate from the store…
I just wish looking back, that we just went with this one from the store with the smaller centre stone, and much less expensive!

The difference isn’t very noticable to me. If you love the larger halo ring you should go for it though!

Honestly, I LOVE your bloom halo! From a distance it simply looks like a larger, super sparkly solitaire, the when you get up close… BAM! HALO!
If I had known abot bloom halos when shopping, thats probably what I would have gone for 🙂

I like the bloom halo actually!

I like both of the rings, they look very similar, but what I think is making it look different is that the band on your ring is a lot thicker in comparison to your halo/diamond then the one from the store is. The one from the stores halo/diamond stands out more bc the band is so much thinner.

OMG I love yours 10,000 times better. It reminds me of the Tacori 2620. I hate such a large halo I think the larger halo detracts from the center stone whereas the bloom accentuates the center stone. Keep yours the way it is, it looks much more expensive and tasteful.

I love yours so much more!!!! Keep it!

The halo is way too small, they did not do a good job in re-creating the ring for you. I’d give them a chance to re-cast (they would have to “fix” the ring by re-creating it), and if they don’t get it right the second time, I’d ask for my money back and go buy the other one you fell in love with.

Both are beautiful! Though it sounds like you’re a little let down and may have a preference for the one you had seen in the store. I agree the store ring does have more of a vintage/estate feel which is neat.
Maybe speak with the store/desginer who custom made your ring and see what they would suggest, It would be awful to spend that much money on something and then have regret over not getting what you wanted.

Thanks for the input girls. I totally thought it reminded me of the Tacori 2620! Although he did do a horrible job recreating the ring I wanted, I do like this one too. I think I will still go back and express these thoughts with him though… and maybe also add some milgrain details or something to the side band to help accentuate the “vintage” look…

Your ring is gorgeous!!! And I kinda think the setting of your ring actually looks more expensive / high quality than the one you wished to replicate! It does almost look like a slight bezel set though.. maybe of you redesign it, they can find a gorgeous balance between the two? Regardless, congratulatiions!!!
