@crystalmaiden:  I love heart-shaped stones, and I loooove the setting you are thinking of getting. Such a cute design and idea.

In your first picture, my favorites are the second/bottom row, the second from the right and the one on the far right.

In the second picture, I’m pretty sure I love the same stones: second from the right and farthest on the right.

I have a couple of loose heart shaped stones. It’s such a fun shape!!

Love this ring idea! Do you have a choice of metal tone or is the setting only in YG? If you can choose your metal, from the stone selection in the second pic L to R, I would go 2nd one over in WG/Silver, 3rd one over in RG, and the one all the way to the right in YG.

@crystalmaiden:  I have a heart garnet. It’s a Rhodolite garnet and about 1.63 carat equivalent. I think I will probably set it into a plain yellow or rose gold bezel. A thin bezel around the stone … maybe a slightly decorative basket underneath (like scrollwork or something), and a thin band. It will probaby end up being an index finger or middle finger ring.

And I have a heart shaped diamond. It’s a K, VVS1, and 1.52 carats. I’m including a macro shot of it in a gemstone holder. But I also have a link to a video from instagram. Hope it’s ok to share the video link here. I feel like I had a lot of trouble getting decent pictures of this stone loose b/c I never had just the right lighting — LOL.

This one will also go into a ring. My plan is to have it set in a ‘forever” setting for our 25th, which is still 3  years away. I may try to talk my hubby into letting me set it into a plain, simple setting before then, though. So I can enjoy seeing it. I bought it way too soon (because our 25th is still 3 years away), but sometimes things show up at unexpected times. LOL

@crystalmaiden:  Thanks! I really like garnets, too. Rhodolites, in particular, appeal to me because they can be such a rich color.

I agree on the heart shape! I love a chubby and rather wide heart. Some of the heart cuts I see for sale in loose stones barely even have the cleft/dent at the top. LOL
