I have to recommend to buy a new Britax B Safe infant seat. It is so so so much easier to just click that into your Britax stroller then having to worry about bringing the car seat adapter, storing it, and putting it on. The ease of using the Britax will definitely beat out on the price difference youll have to spend!

Is it possible to return the Britax stroller and get a Chicco one instead? Supposedly it is MUCH easier when your seat and stroller are the same brand, so if you can save a lot of money by getting the used seat and a different stroller, I’d do that. I don’t think you’d want to have the stroller and seat be two different brands, even if it saves some dough, as that could get annoying fast if they don’t really click together perfectly!

@ScottishMrs:  ah, okay. Then definitely aim to get them both the same brand, whichever way ends up being cheaper! (either buying a Chicco stroller secondhand and selling the one you have, or buying a new car seat). You’ll be using it enough that you definitely won’t want to deal with it being a pain in the ass!

I would suggest the b-safe as well, the adapters are really just a set of bars that strap on to the stroller and then you clip this “seat belt” over the car seat to keep it on. I’ve heard that they aren’t as secure as some would like. Also, I’m not positive about the b-ready but I watched a lady in a parking lot once and she had to unfold her stroller, attach the adapter, then get her carseat and connect it. You typically can’t fold the stroller with the adapter on.

Second thing, when does their chicco expire? It might not be worth investing in the adapter if the seat expires soon.

I have the b-ready too, and the chaperone car seat to go with it and the ability to snap in and out of the stroller easily is amazing because seriously, it already takes quite a few minutes and coordination to wrangle your diaper bag, purse, baby, stoller etc.. to get going somwhere. Anything that cuts out a step is awesome.

My baby is 5 weeks old and I’ve been loving my britax carseat and stroller, great choice!

The new Britax for sure…. I would never buy a used carseat. You cannot know for sure the history… was it ever in ANY kind of accident, was it ever checked on a plane, were the straps washed, and could it be nearing expiration (that would be easy to find out but the other things not so much). Unless you know the complete history of the seat & what the manufacturer says in those instances (some seats can be in a fender bender & still be good, but others cannot be in any kind of accident) then you don’t know if it’s safe.
