This is the dress im wearing. I want to get a second dress thats is short and im torn between two dresses. They both look good on me, and i kinda like the black one with white flowers a bit more but i initially wanted an all white dress so i can stand out and not blend with guests. Also, I think the black one is a little more dressier and the white one is a bit more casual. I already have a dress for my rehesarsal dinner that i already own but was thinking i can wear the black one for that because i really like it and the white one for the wedding but im worried its a little too casual since most guests would be dressed semi formal but then again im only going to be in that dress for the last hour or hour in a half of the wedding. What would you ladies do?

They are both cute additions to your wardrobe for everyday wear. I would go with neither for a second dress for the wedding though. Keep shopping or stay in the wedding dress

purplelove88 : do you have to change out of your gown? It’s so pretty! I guess a better way to phrase that is; why do you want to change to another dress?

That last dress will make you look like you’re going to a backyard BBQ. I’d stay in the wedding dress – it’s a beauty!

Agreed. Stay in your wedding dress. You’ll only get to wear it once.

Another vote for staying in your wedding dress!
I just don’t understand this idea of changing out of what is likely to be the most expensive dress you will ever own and never be able to wear again?

Why do you need a second dress? It doesn’t look like the one you have would be too hard to dance in.

Stay in your gorgeous dress!

purplelove88 : the white one the bottom. As it still looks bridal and you could add a sparkly belt. The other with flowers on looks like something maybe one of your guest would be wearing and you still want to stand out as the bride. Just my opinion. X

Stay in your bridal gown, both dresses seem to casual and you will end up looking like a guest at your own wedding

Say in your wedding dress or keep looking. Both of those dresses are not very elegant. I don’t think they are elegant enough for a guest. Definitely, not for a bride.

purplelove88 : Yeah, personally I would stay in my wedding dress!

If you choose to wear a second dress, you could consider these options, all from ModCloth:

Thanks ladies for the comments! I kinda assumed that a second dress was standard. I actually never been to a wedding before but my mom, aunts and my grandmother keep asking me if i found one because im getting close to the wedding. They all did a second dress. My mom said hers was simple sundress and she only put it on like 15 minutes before they left so she didnt have to travel to the hotel in her big dress. my father also took off his tux and put something casual. I wanted to get something inexpensive because i probably wont wear a formal white cocktail dress again. I guess my family overdid it or maybe that was customary years ago, idk. I tease my mom sometimes about the cost of her wedding gown, she spend $400 dollars more than i did on mine and her wedding was 30 years ago lol. Now getting all the comments i fell comfortable staying in my wedding gown for the reception. But did any one change out of the gown to something else when they left the reception to go to the hotel. Also what do you think about the black dress for the rehearsal dinner?
