Which is More Important? Videography, Dress, or Decor

Think about what you and your husband and guests will remember 10 years from now… is it the bits of detail on an otherwise similarly styled dress, is it 100 vs 50 candles and real vs fake greens, or is it videos that you can still watch and reminisce? You can tell which one I’d choose lol..

Look if the dress is a very different style / feel and the difference between the dress you really want and the dress you feel meh about, then I’d say spend it on the dress. But if it’s just the details and otherwise similar in look and feel, I wouldn’t do it.

I would spend more money on the videographer!

I’d probably just save it, or spend it on the honeymoon lol.

My husband will say — Honeymoon!!  LOL.   He doesn’t care too much about the wedding.  He would rather spend more money on our honeymoon than the wedding.  With your choice, I say the dress.  There is so much beautiful dress out there and if I’m on a budget, my choices will be limited.  However, you can have your dream dress when you have more to spend on it.

If you didn’t already have a videography package, I would have gone with that. But since you already do have something included I would probably go with decor in this case – sounds like that change in package would result in the most changes out of the 3.

jellybellynelly :  same! But if I had to pick, probably dress or decor. This is coming from someone who didn’t get a videographer though.

Looking back now, I would say dress. I barely notice my decor and never watch my video lol, but I’ll always remember my wedding dress (I buy it though and planned to repurposed it since I love it so much lol). But yeah honeymoon sounds more tempting =)))

Personally I’d say videographer.  I had 2 very inexpensive wedding dresses, I loved both.  And we did have nice floral centerpieces.  We skimped on the video and did the ones where you give your guests ipods to film and then you get all the footage after.  It took us 6 years to make something of it.  Wish we would have just paid out up front.

In your case I would choose decor for sure.

Honeymoon. A wedding is a few hours. You already have essentials covered. A honeymoon lasts a lot longer.

If you already have a videographer, my choice would be decor. But decor was extremely important to me.

Normally, I’d say ‘videography,’ though like PP mentioned, it sounds like you already have a basic package (maybe a teaser and a highlights video?)..  So I guess it depends on the upgrade.  If the videographer can meet you beforehand and get footage before the wedding, and use that in addition to wedding day coverage, then I’d do that.

Decor in your case is also a consideration, as it sounds like it’d be the biggest change to the overall feel of the venue/reception area.

Save it or honeymoon.

as PP said, if you didn’t already have video package id have said that.

no one (including yoursevels) will remeber or care about the other details 2/5/10 years from now, and really, a weddjng is just one day..

– but you could do something fab on honeymoon, or save it for something else you really want.
