I could really use some advise! I have fairly bad skin. I have pretty bad current acne and older acne scars as well. I normally can do a decent job of covering it up; however, my wedding is coming up (the stress is making me break out even more than usual), and I really want to have the best foundation possible to cover up my bad skin on my wedding day! I have tried everything under the sun, including Acutane to get rid of the acne itself, but I have made my piece with the fact that my skin is just not going to get better. I am settling with just buying the best make up possible to cover it up.
Currently, I am using Clinique Acne Solutions, which does a decent job, but I believe that there is better out there. I prefer something with the highest amount of coverage possible, and something that won’t irritate oily skin. Any advise on any of these foundations would be helpful if you have tried any of them! The foundations in the poll are just ones that I have heard good things about, but I am open to anything.

@HLiska3: I use mineral make-up. I have sensitive skin that is prone to break outs. I also prefer light coverage/natural look. I am currently using Youngblood and it seems to be the best one I’ve used yet. I have also tried Bare Escentuals and Nude in the past.

I use both covergirl for everyday wear, and MAC studio fix for special occasions [it’s a little too expensive for me to wear all the time!].
I normally have combination oily/dry skin [oily forehead and chin, dry cheeks!] – I’ve been using dickensen’s pure witch hazel for about 6 months now and my skin isn’t oily or dry anymore.
But to get to your actual question, I MAC has some very good coverage but it does sit pretty heavy, I’m not sure I would say it’s the best though.

I think you need to try them yourself. I say this because everyone will have a different favorite and tell you why it’s the best.
I have really bad, dry skin, and scars. I need full-coverage foundation that doesn’t dry me out.
My personal favorites:
Laura Mercier (the BEST)
MAC studio sculpt
other full coverage foundations that I can’t use bc it is too drying: Kat Von D and Estée Lauder Double Wear

Hands down (and I have used just about every foundation known to man) Revlon colorstay is my fave.
Great on oily skin, fabulous coverage and brilliant price.

I second the Makeup Forever HD (MUFE) – great full coverage without feeling heavy

I would try MakeUp Forever HD or Kat Von D Lock It. Some people have said that the Kat VonD is drying and cakey but that’s what I use and I never have those problems. However, I have a strict way of applying it: moisturize, prime (Smashbox primer), use only 1 pump, apply with the Beauty Blender. It always looks flawless and covers everything.

I just bought that Loreal Age Defying OMG Stay away from it. It’s HORRIBLE! It leaves your face oily, greasy feeling and it doesn’t stay on all day. and it feels SOOO heavy. Just beware if anyone wants to try it. It clogged my pores too, i’ve had some major outbreaks
I usualy use Loreal 24 Hour wear (I think Color Stay)- I decided to try the Age Defying. I need to go back and buy the 24 hour wear. That stuff is good and its light. Great for the price!

@Olivepepper: i second that!
i love it too!! it’s the only drug store foundation that i’ve found completely matches my slightly olive asian yellow skin tone!
i wore it for my engagement pictures and as a Bridesmaid or Best Man. Make up forever is also really good. But you can’t beat the quality of revelon colorstay for $10.
you can also get that airbrushed look if you use it w/ that pink tear drop shaped sponge to apply it….the name is not coming to me at the moment (buy the knock off on ebay so much cheaper)

Another vote for Revlon Colorstay. I have MakeupForever HD in my pile as well but I’m always reaching for the Colorstay.

I must be the only one but I also use Clinique Acne solutions, including the concealer and it does wonders to hide any scarring, redness or bumps for me! I don’t always wear a primer with it, but for occasions I will and that seems to give it an extra amount of staying power, plus it seems to photograph well!
I have never tried MUF HD, but I was also on Acutane for skin issues, and sometimes my skin reacts very poorly to products that contain a lot of wax bases– so ” costume” type makeup ( like MAC) caused me severe breakout issues. Clinique is the only one I have found that gives me good coverage, isn’t an arm and a leg and also doesn’t irritate sensitive skin
