@HLiska3: Armani Luminous Silk foundation… hands down. It’s perfect and worth every penny. I’ve tried many foundations, and none have come close to this one.
I know it may be rough, but if you have skin that has acne, the best thing you can do for yourself is to not wear makeup until it clears up. Even if it takes months. Acne is caused by infection and dead skin. Ask your doctor for an rx for an antibiotic. You can exfoliate your skin with baking soda, or in all reality, a fresh washcloth, on a daily basis. I’m sorry you are going through this hun. But don’t buy into the hype of fancy/expensive products helping, because in most cases they just make things worse, including your pocketbook.
You are right where skin can worsen in the beginning from facials because it speeds up the process of any pimples in process, but it sounds like you need to get a facial this week, and be extremely stringent on your facial cleansing process, both day and night. You’ll be surprised on how well your face will clear and you will be very happy you did it. You have enough time to reap the benefits of a very good facial.
I would recommend bio organic facials , really helps with minimizing pores and kills bacteria that causes acne … but again try seeing an allergist it could be as simple as finding out what you may be allergic too doesn’t hurt to try… this can help you long term… make up is short term just for your wedding …
ETA- Dead skin does cause break outs … use Clarosonic or something similiar this is helping me a lot and keeping my skin really smooth also helping with my pores 🙂 use with a gentle cleanser
Good luck 🙂
Estée Lauder double wear, spots covered with EL concealer, and with a very light covering of the Estée Lauder double wear powder to set it. Been wearing it for years, always makes my skin look porcelain no matter how bad it actually is!
MUFE HD!
@HLiska3: Bare Minerals is the best for my severly sensitive and acne prone skin. I use to get the painful cystic ones too. For my skin care routine I use La Roche Posay Effaclar face cleanser. A MIRACLE in a bottle for sure. I also use the La Roche Posay Effclar duo to keep my acne at bay and help with the redness and scarring from previous pimples. I’ve been using this combo for 3 years no and would never change! It’s that perfect for me!
I third Makeup Forever HD- it’s great! It’s a bit heavy if you wear it everyday, but I rarely wear makeup so when I do I like it to look like I did something for the last 30mins.
Girl, I feel you. From ages 14-16 I had the WORST skin. I’m talking huge cystic zits that lingered for weeks and left ugly purple scars. I tried literally everything in existance short of Accurane. I was about to go that route when my derm put me on birth control (Yaz)… and it all disappeared. Immediately. I was on BC for about 7 years until I went off about a year ago. I broke out again, same as before. I have since started taking spironolactone, and have flawless skin again! Hormonal acne is a b&%[email protected]*.
ANYWAY, the point is, I know what I’m talking about when it comes to bad skin. At the height of my skin issues, I wore Estee Lauder doublewear, and my skin looked normal. You couldn’t see the purple scars AT ALL, and the existing bumps were very well concealed. It also stays on ALL DAY without budging. The only trick is to get the exact right color for your skin tone, or it looks like a mask.
I’d keep working to get at the root of the problem. Your skin sounds like there may be hormonal issues afoot, especially since Accutane didn’t work for you. Please, please, please ask your derm for spironolactone. In two months, my skin went from ravaged to flawless. Hormonal acne can be some of the hardest to treat, but once you find the right thing, it is like salvation.
Love and support to you!!! <3
My current favorite combination is Too Faced primer with Cover FX foundation. The Cover FX has great coverage and gives that dewy, natural glow look. For the acne scars, using a good primer is the real key. I have terrible scarring from my teenage acne (had to go on Accutane it was so bad) and having a great primer really reduces the appearance of the scars. What I love about Color FX is that they have soooo many shades! And their shades are broken into undertones: pink, neutral, and golden. I used to love the Smashbox Studio Skin 15-hour Wear, but then they started testing on animals so they could sell in China 🙁
