not an attatchment but i bake alot of cakes and i have a beater blade and love it – no more having to swipe down the sides of the bowl with a spatula

i have been thinking about the icecream attachment though… mmm icecream

I have the cheese grater/meat grinder thingy and it just makes a mess. I’ve used it a few times thinking it will get better or something but it’s a waste. Unless you’re going to want to shred 10 pound blocks of cheese everyday.

I have the splash gaurd and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It makes things so easy for adding a bit at a time and trying to figure out how to pour it in without making a mess. Plus it keeps all the little droplets of batter in when you’re at high speeds. It doesn’t help you pour anything out, but I love this attachment! It’s my favorite!!

Been thinking about the ice cream maker set too…I second the “mmmm ice cream” statement. πŸ˜‰

Oy! I am desperately coveting a KitchenAid – they sell for about $630 Australian dollars (CRAZY!) so I am uber jealous of my North American bee friends. πŸ™‚ A friend recommended the ice cream maker.

I registered for the pasta extruder attachment.  You can make spaghetti, macaroni, curly things that look awesome, and a few others.

I heard that the ice cream maker is good, but it works the same as a standard one and is cheaper.  Just what I heard, I dont know for sure.

@eloping: I am so jealous! πŸ˜€ I keep trying to convince Mr J to get one – but it’s too expensive to put on our registry & we have so many other costs right now that it’s always deemed ‘not necessary’. I dream of the day I can bake & create like mad. (Also: wish I could squeeze one into my suitcase!)

I love the ice cream maker attachment and the pasta maker- not the one you put the dough in and it comes out in shapes- the attachment where you roll dough out using the attachement, change attachments and cut. Labor intensive, but worth it.

I would buy a separate food processor- I haven’t heard really great things about the other attachements and a food processor is really versatile for other things.
