I like djs but I’m slightly biased as my dad is a dj lol! But it makes the atmosphere more familiar and enjoyable to the crowd, but it also depends on ur audience if u hav a younger audience I say dj but if its slightly more mature, older audience I say bands

I had a band and we had a mostly younger audience. I don’t necessary prefer a band over a DJ, but sometimes both can veer into the cheesy so you just have to be selective about who you choose whether DJ or band.

Im going with a DJ, I want a band too. Some work together..maybe they could. We were going to have a friend who sings in his band sing our dance song and probably the father/daughter and mother/son song too.  Then since he is a friend let him enjoy the rest of the reception and the DJ take over. But that friend is not the most accountable so its just a DJ for us.

I think a DJ is better for more of a dance crowd. Live bands are great though. DJ was much cheaper.

you could always do band for cocktail hour/dinner and dj for dancing if your budget allows for it.

A great DJ is amazing… but there is nothing like a band.
