I am in the process of trying to decide on a new setting / set.
I am considering these two settings.
The only difference is that one ia a cathedral (not high…which I like), and the other is flat (I am not sure what that is called :P)
Here are pics of the two…which one do you think would looks better??

I’d say the flat one… it seems to match better w. the band. I think cathedral settings are pretty, but I’d do whatever I could to make the ring stick out the least amount just because I’m clumsy and would worry that I’d hit it on something. Both are lovely though 🙂

These are just samples…and actually the “band” in the second pic is a setting without the head on it 😉
The rings will be made for me and the bands will match 🙂

the first one looks more secure

My vote goes to the cathedral. I love how it looks. You should set up a poll to track responses. 🙂 Good luck choosing, both are lovely.

It’s difficult to tell from the pics..they seem to be the same height. Both are very nice.

My vote is for the cathedral setting. The setting you posted doesn’t come up that high (I have seen some cathedral settings that come up really high) and I think it just looks nicer than the flat one.

@GFerg: Yes, they are probably about the same height, I am just starting to think maybe the cathedral adds a little something to the look.

I prefer Cathedral styles in general…I think it makes the stone pop a little bit more and I like how the stone sits above the wedding band. Both options are beautiful though!

I prefer the “cathedral” set one, however I don’t think thats the actual term for what that first ring is. It looks like the first one has prongs set INTO the band, where as the second has prongs set ON TOP of the band. Is that correct?

Definitely cathedral… I like the gradual look and lower setting.
